Good location – still walkable from the ferry terminal but much quieter than staying next to it. The very kind staff managed to find a quiet room for us to have a good sleep, which was the most important thing for us. It's an old hotel but still very decent by Mariehamn standards, and clean. Close to Pommern museum (dedicate enough time for it), Kobba Klintar tours departure (a must in Mariehamn!), beautiful marine with restaurants (if the weather is nice), leafy streets etc.

Breakfast quality was pretty basic.

Hotel Cikada's most outstanding feature is its superb location. We arrived by ferry from Stockholm at 23:45 and walked to the hotel in 10 minutes. It isn't quite on the waterfront but overlooks the sea. The rooms are somewhat basic, but they're clean and comfortable. Major bonus points for a small fridge and a microwave in the room. The small swimming pool is very welcome and was warm when we visited in late June. This accommodation is extremely well priced compared to other accommodation in Mariehamn. There is limited on site parking, but there is free street parking in front of the hotel.

The buffet breakfast was a major disappointment and was the poorest breakfast I had in Finland. It was reasonably generous, but there wasn't much variety, and the quality of the ingredients was poor (the bacon in particular was flabby, tasteless and just horrible). Other than honey, there was nothing sweet to put on bread, and it's difficult to understand why their budget couldn't have stretched to at least one pot of jam. The disappointing quality of the breakfast put us off trying the restaurant for other meals. The hotel's construction construction doesn't provide much noise insulation. So if you're looking for a quiet getaway, this probably isn't the place for you (especially in the school holidays).

Pool is really nice and our room was recently renovated. Room inside was nice and clean, especially the bathroom. Room was also quiet, evenrhough there were events going on int the city. Decent value for the money and location was great for us, since there was tall ships race at the same time right next to the hotel.

Our room was in a first floor at the back. Outside was a bit nasty and really shadowed. It wasn't dirty, but felt like being at the backyard with the staff. Also the bed wasn't for me even though it was new. A little too small and too soft for my taste. Not the nicest breakfast I've had in hotels, but as bad as some comments made me expect.

The location was just off the centre of town with a 5 minute walk to it. It was quiet at night, no noise, so you could get a good night's sleep. The outdoor swimming pool was heated at 27 degrees and cleaned every day. Breakfast was a good choice of hot and cold food and plenty of it. The staff were very helpful and glad to help with anything that was asked for or about.

Having to leave and return home.

Rooms are old but tidy and very quiet, thanks to the location and the thick double doors. The breakfast was very good, offered everything we could wish for. Gluten free bread was available upon request and very good and tasty in quality. The staff were helpful and Finnish speaking. Hotel offers many free activities, there were a very good gym and morning sauna was offered as well. In the summer there is also a pool. You can also have a walk around the Pommer-ship, also in the winter. And the sailing museum is just across the street. The location of the hotel is very good, the area is quiet, but it's near the city center and ferry terminal. There is a beautify park just next to the hotel and pathways lead to the old water tower, offering great views. Good place to stay with dogs, there are no carpets in the room and park is near.

The staff in the breakfast could have been more friendly. There were oat milk available, however it was not the barista-version and I would expect it to be available for all, without having to request it. Unfortunately there is a extra cost for a dog, 10€/night, even that they don't provide anything for your dog (no nap, no blanket etc.). For two nights it was still somehow reasonable but if you stay longer then it get's expensive. At least there room was well cleaned.

Perfectly located near the ferry and close to the center. Nice view to the ship outside :) They have a kettle and a fridge. They have swimming pool, breakfast, quite big rooms with a balcony and can give a bicycle for free! Below I saw sauna and swimming pool. Luggage you also can leave for free.

It's true is a bit old, but it has it's charm and doesn't matter at all. We really liked it.

(This review applies for the suite room only!) The upmost floor suite has it's own balcony, separate air conditioning for sleeping area and kitchen area plus a spacious bathroom with separate bathtub and shower. Balcony was facing to the sea and the view was lovely. The location is excellent and despite it the area was quite peaceful (we were staying there during the weekend). There's also a pool in the hotel yard, although it was mainly used by kids during the day and evening.

The room's own kitchen was not very well equipped (only a microwave oven and a very small fridge) so I would not recommend this for families who want to cook their own dinner / lunch. The hotel breakfast was not as good as one would expect from Scandinavian hotels, that usually have quite abundant continental-style breakfasts. Special diets are not included in the breakfast without separate request, so if you are a vegan or gluten-free visitor, please make sure you have something to eat at the breakfast buffet. Breakfast consisted of mainly bread, some sausages and cheese plus oat porridge.

Useful location (Mariehamn isn't a huge place so it'd be hard to find somewhere that wasn't conveniently located for town centre and ferry port). Good facilities - kitchen sink in room, swimming pool (not tested)

The town of Mariehamn is very walkable and enjoyable and this facility gives easy access. Our room was very clean. The included breakfast was very nice.

This is an older building so there's obviously limits for refurbishment - we knew from previous reviews that the rooms were very small - indeed.

due to my own mistake i booked two rooms. that couldn't be changed, but i got upgraded to a suite. -close to the city center -easy parking -nearby supermarket -nice view -friendly staff -comfortable beds/enough pillows -coffee was tasty -variety at the breakfast-buffet was fine for us -wifi and A/C worked well

-shower door didn't work well -a leaking pipe under the sink
