Toogoolawah Exchange Hotel is a gorgeous little establishment with so much character going for it. The bed was super comfortable with the softest sheets ever. I just fell into them and felt instantly snuggly...which is not something I can say I feel with most other accommodation bedding. And the pillows were great too. Not too thin. Not hard or lumpy. Perfection! A lot of thought has gone into the decor and all the little final touches for guests. Super convenient affordable and hearty meals from the Groovy Goat downstairs - with super attentive and competent staff to keep things running smoothly. Loved that breakfast was also included which made for one less thing to have to manage.. Our room was more than adequate and definitely comfortable. I loved the ambience, the country hospitality and character. Just the history that oozed from the rooms which made me feel so welcomed and comfortable. I didn't really want to leave to be honest. I really really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. Great job Toogoolawah Exchange Hotel Management and Staff!!!

Nothing to not like.

It was a large room with separate toilet and bathroom [bath/shower]. Location was in Toogoolawah main street easy walking distance to everything. I also liked the common kitchen with access to complementary cereal, bread toaster, butter, Vegemite, jam (satchets). I had dinner on the night downstairs & they have a good pub menu. Park at the rear with access after hours although it isn't paved so drive slowly. I also liked the hot water which although a bit slow, was hot & constant in temperature (I love a good shower) Air conditioning and ceiling fans kept me very comfortable during my stay when it hot & humid outside. [Condensation on the outside of the window attests to this].

Light in bedroom not working -> not really an issue because the adjoining lounge/TV 'room' is part of the open plan bedroom. Parking at rear isn't paved with a few shallow pot holes. The entry key operation to room 6 was a little awkward due to proximity to door frame but I'm really nit picking with this.

The shared kitchen area. The ambience of high-ceiling period architecture ... coming from a worker's cottage in the city I felt very comfortable with the style. I liked the utilitarian nature without being overly posh ... it's a hotel in the country ... this is exactly what I desired. The bed was comfy and the aircon worked well. An oil heater was also supplied for cold winter nights. There was the usual TV microwave, cups, teabags, etc., although we always travel with a small bag of kitchen supplies. The ensuite was welcomed although not standard for the hotel. I look forward to staying there again

The first night, the water for the shower was a tad coldish. In the morning, it was hotter and adequate for two showers. This was not a big problem, but maybe it could be looked at. It is certainly not the worst I have encountered in my travels.

It was a nice old fashioned pub. Very comfortable bed, the ensuite room was large with a separate lounging area, table and chairs, and a separate toilet. The aircon and fan really cooled the room quickly and made for a comfortable sleep. Downstairs is a bistro with great food for a reasonable price. It’s close to the rail trail. What’s not to like?

Nothing. The building is over 100 years old and in original condition with modern conveniences like aircon. It is very inexpensive to compensate gift that.

2 bathrooms at end of hall were lovely, spacious and very clean. Toiletries and towels provided. Bed very comfortable and continental breakfast included was well stocked and convenient. Dinner in restaurant was met with lovely friendly staff and decent meal.

Had family room. Curtain in kitchen under sink very dirty. Sponge in kitchen very old and smelly. Spare tv in bedroom didn’t work. Window coverings tired looking. We had our bikes as was doing BVRT. This would be a popular stopover so it could benefit to have storage downstairs for bikes. We were able to take our bikes upstairs to our rooms but up some very steep steps.

Breakfast great. Free access to tea, coffee, cereal, milk, toast . Location great - depends what you're looking for but I wanted to stay in an old pub right in town and that's what we got. Couldn't quite work out why the photos depicted water views though and referred to a public viewing deck. Definitely not where we stayed!

There was nothing I didn't like! Oh could have done with a window in the room but didn't really bother me for just one night. Oh and more crockery was needed in the little kitchenetter where the breakfast supplies were available. Not enough cereal bowls the morning we were there!

We ended up in the one room with an ensuite. Very large. Very comfortable for a QLD Hotel. There was even the use of a kitchen, as well as facilities in own room. If you enjoy a pub stay and don’t mind stairs this is a great place. On the Brisbane Valley rail trail. Friendly staff and town.

On Friday night we bought raffle tickets for the local school. Winning numbers were displayed but it might have been nice for the winners to also been announced. Steak knives would have been appreciated

Excellent value for money. Fantastic bistro with awesome service. The room was very clean with one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in. Great country pub vibe.

Shower had terrible water pressure. Made it difficult to have a decent shower. Using a water restrictor in shower heads doesn't save water. It just makes you have a longer shower.

I love riding my bike on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. This hotel is economical, clean and ideally located for this purpose with the trail running directly in front of the hotel in the adjacent park. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the shared bathrooms are clean and well appointed. The two bathrooms are sufficient to cater for the number of bedrooms without waiting. The kitchen is clean and well appointed for self-catering and a continental breakfast is included in the price. The restaurant in-house is also quick and has a good menu catering for the health conscious and those who like to indulge.

As would be expected in a country hotel, the rooms are upstairs so bikes cannot be stored in the rooms. I chain mine on the car bike carrier and have had not problems as the carpark is at the back of the hotel and well lit. A lock up shed or room on the ground level for storing bikes would be a great bonus!

There was so much room and the kitchenette was welcomed. We had the room with an ensuite. It was a great stop whilst walking the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the meal at dinner was excellent. Highly recommend.
