Great little family run hotel on the highway. The publican "Jonesy" was very welcoming and friendly. We were lucky enough to be entertained by his daughter playing piano whilst we were there which is quite the experience as she is very talented. The room whilst compact, had everything you needed and was comfortable. Didn't get a chance to try the food as we had plans in Taliem Bend the night we stayed but did have some breakfast in the morning which was included in the room price. Well worth a stay for the night if you are passing through and will definitely stay at this one again, I have booked in another night for next time I am over to Adelaide and will be using this place as my go to stop for any trips in the future.

Nothing that I would say that I didn't like.

A very interesting place. And the only hotel in Coonalpyn. A very retro style hotel with rooms and washrooms seemingly 100 years old. But maintained neat and clean. Lively and well managed bar, a small casino corner, ala carte food and complimentary basic breakfast. Friendly staff. I won't mind staying there again.

The basins and showers have the old style separate twin tap system for hot and cold water. That 's a bit inconvenient but adds to the retro feel of the place.

Try to get room 6 if you can. Much more spacious and better lit than the others. The first room offered had a door which wouldn’t lock. The wood fired pizza and the breakfast were great. Make sure you try the Belgian waffles just across the road. Worth the long drive to sample them. Comfortable bed and starched linens made for a good night’s sleep.

The staff don’t seem to have any time to offer a warm welcome to guests. Seems like they are rushed off their feet

Friendly country hospitality from all the staff.Good pub meals at a reasonable price. Very clean room and ensuite in a small double bedroom, suitable for overnight stay. Comfortable bed,heater and TV. Recommend this Hotel , larger rooms are available if needed.

No tea facilities in room, but available in breakfast room at all times.

It was great to be able to be able to get an evening meal without going somewhere else. Also loved being able to grab breakfast at whatever time suited us

Currently going through upgrades so a few little issues which staff remedies quickly and happily Always hate showers over a bath(I have mobility issues)

The price was fantastic, staff very friendly and helpful. The room and facilities were exceptionally clean and well kept, crisp clean bed sheets. Food in restaurant was priced well, 2 meals and drinks for under $40, and nice.

A little noise from highway and rail, may disturb a light sleeper (nothing a few extra drinks at the bar couldn’t fix).

Meals and drinks at the bar were really good, Single bed was comfortable for 1 person and room was size was ok for 1 night.

Old evap air con was a bit rattlely. light sleepers may struggle in summer. Breakfast was okay, just no sink or place to leaves dirty dishes

Breakfast was adequate, evening meal was typical pub food, well-presented and tasty. Linen and towels were excellent and the bathroom was very clean.

Room size was a little smaller than anticipated therefore had no other 'seating' than the bed.

Everything was basic, however that's what we expected, good value for the price. Owner friendly and sociable. Food was good, service was good, no complaints here. Had a few drinks, played some pool and darts, had a chat, sat by the wood heater, what more is there to life on the road :)

The location was a great place to stop on a Melbourne to Adelaide trip, and it was lovely to enjoy the hospitality of a typical country pub. A bag was accidentally left behind and Holly rang and informed me then posted it to me.

It was a little noisy being on the main highway, but earplugs were offered by the property and ensured a comfortable night's sleep.
