Location was fabulous, less than 5min walk into town or 2min over to where the river walk begins and the markets are sometimes. Very quiet and peaceful area. Backs out onto river so beautiful outside. The staff were super friendly and nice to talk with. The buildings themselves were all very nice, as were the rooms, decor made it feel like you were staying I a welcoming friend's home instead of a hotel. Facilities were all really good, shower was lovely, good strong pressure and got very hot. Breakfast was fantastic, home made everything, quirky place to sit and eat it too, enjoyed nattering with the other guests at the long table style breakfast, different staff at brekky but once again we're all super attentive and friendly, will 100% stay here again when back in Bridgetown. Oh and linens, towels, toiletries provided etc were all of good quality too.

Nit picking but I didn't find the bed all the comfy, however that may be a matter of preference, I am very particular about beds, still slept just fine, though just meant that when I woke up I didn't feel like laying in, which is all good in a town like Bridgetown as there is plenty to get up and see and do. While there was enough car parking, it was a little tight, but that may be more the fault of some people having absolutely enormous American sizes truck/ute things these days (and then parking them incompetently) instead of normal sizes vehicles that they know how to drive and park. Oh, we didn't care as we didn't watch it, but some people may find the TV in the room too small.

Ford House is one truly unique and beautiful place to stay in Bridgetown. First and foremost were the staff and the delightful and humerous owner Jenny. All very welcoming and courteous and made us feel just like long lost family coming to stay. The original Ford House is decorated so perfectly to capture the true colonial pioneering days of yesteryear with classic period features, artworks and eclectic pieces displayed all throughout the house. There are also several other cottages on the estate available to visitors within the beautiful seasonal gardens on the Blackwood riverfront. The gift shops have some of the best quality gifts and curios we’ve ever seen anywhere and they are a destination in themselves even if you’re not staying at the estate. Would highly recommended Jenny’s Ford House for a few nights if you’re passing through. Did I mention the incredible included breakfast with fresh homemade bread every morning? Do yourself a favour and put them on your list!

Absolutely nothing. They nailed the true essence of what a bed and breakfast accommodation should be.

Was so amazed by all the detail and work that had been put into the property. The garden is exquisite and there were even baby ducklings! We stayed in the Jarrah room and it was very comfortable and had everything you would expect or want. Very clean. The staff were so accomodating. I forgot to bring my own herbal tea and the lady found some wonderful choices and let me take them all back to the house. Breakfast was perfect! Ten out of ten. The room was a fairy wonderland and the table setting was lovely. Bacon and eggs with toast and home made jams and a pot of tea. What more could you ask for!

The only thing I could possibly pick at would be the shower pressure and jiggling between hot and cold to find the right temperature. However, the bathroom was very clean and had everything you could need.

We stayed just the one night in one of the en suite rooms in the two-bedroom, more modern, house with shared kitchen and lounge room. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time to spend in the house so didn't get to use the kitchen etc. It would be ideal for two couples who know each other to stay for a few nights. Our room was spacious and beautifully appointed. Electric blankets on the bed were welcomed on a cool night to heat the sheets. It was quiet and private. We got to know the couple in the adjacent room over breakfast at the long table in the delightful room filled with giftware. Brekkie was okay. I don't like a hot breakfast but my partner enjoyed his bacon and eggs. The staff were generous in finding me some non-white bread to toast rather than what was offered.

Would have liked a wider selection of breakfast items, perhaps different cereals or fresh fruit, the option of an omelette maybe.

What a gorgeous place! It’s several buildings on the large property surrounded by beautiful gardens. And the shops! I have never in all my travels seen anything like it. There are several spaces absolutely filled to the brim with gifts to purchase. From Christmas and Easter decorations to soaps, garden items, linen, toys, crockery etc etc. Breakfast is in one of the “shops” where there is a massive table made up with gorgeous linen and so many little ornaments, we felt like we were in a movie set. Breakfast itself was also gorgeous with freshly baked bread, bacon, eggs, compotes, yoghurt, coffee, tea etc. The room we stayed in was the JT room and we also had use of the “living room” which was completely self contained and looked out over gardens and the river. We enjoyed strolling around the gardens and admiring all the details. In the morning we admired all the birds and different ducks and ducklings. The photos I’ve added to the review show the breakfast room.

I would have given this lovely place a 10 if the beds would have been a bit better. Whenever my husband moved the bed shook me awake and it moved on the wheels. That wouldn’t stop me on returning cause the rest of the place totally makes up for this.

We loved the honeymoon suite,it's situated on the bank (well not quite on the bank) of the Blackwood River an gave such a peaceful an relaxing view and atmoshpere,which is exactly what we needed after attending a loved ones funeral. The gardens ,the staff, the service ,the room and a hot breakfast were all top notch an couldn't of asked for better place to stay. Management here could of been asking top dollar for our time here,the fact it didn't burn a hole in the hip pocket,was a God send at this particular time an we're ever so grateful. We'll definitely stay again an we would definitely recommend to family an friends. Thank you to all the staff for a beautiful stay at such a hard time. It will be long remembered an much appreciated.

There wasn't a thing we didn't like all though a later checkout would of been good but hey, who's complaining?

Very clean rooms and kitchen etc; huge bed was very comfortable (we were in the ballroom suite). The grounds and gardens are beautiful and obviously well cared for. A bonus is the ability to stroll down to the river through the garden, where there is a number of seating options to take in the tranquility and the sunsets! The breakfasts are amazing - plunger coffee, home made bread and yoghurt, bottled fruits, bacon and eggs - all set at a long table within (and amongst) the gift store - very quirky but this is the point of difference and sets it apart. I would definitely recommend.

Not a lot to dislike. Perhaps brighter bedside lamps to enable reading for those who might like to?

we liked the country feel to the place. the staff were very welcoming and friendly, the breakfast was fantastic with bacon and eggs being popular. the room we were in was the delaportes suite, it was lovely and cosy. the gardens are beautifully kept. we loved the christmas themed room where we sat and ate breakfast, yes theres a lot of things to look at in there but we loved it. the ducks are friendly and roam the gardens too. the gingerbread house is very cute, we just loved everything about ford house, we will definately stay here again.

the only gripe we have is the shower. we found it very small and tight. this could have been made a little bigger and the glass shelf in it maybe should be raised up to near the shower rose to give more room to move.

Fabulous. The hpuse and grounds are breathtaking. The hpuse is a little bit of magic tucked away from the world surrounded in flowers and beauty. He room was beautiful. The staff were lovely especially the lovely man at breakfast who was so friendly and interesting and thoughtful. Loved our 1 night away with my mum. Will definitely be back. Just need to do afternoon tea, scones and tea in the garden to make it even more perfect 👌 please please 🙏

The location of Ford House is great for being able to explore Bridgetown. The staff are lovely and welcoming and the breakfast area is exceptionally sweet (currently decorated in Easter decorations!!). Breakfast was good in the morning, very basic but it certainly filled a void!

The beds are on the small side. The shower in our room was tiny super hard to shower without wetting your hair.
