Honestly one of the quirkiest and nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in anywhere in the world! And I like to travel! A real hidden gem, you would never expect in such a quiet little town in the middle of nowhere! The design of the interior and rooms to accommodate much of the original mill workings and machinery is mind-blowingly clever and fantastic to really feel a sense of the history of the building. The bedrooms were huge, very well appointed with lovely details and incredibly comfortable beds. Honestly the sort of smart, clever design hotel you’d expect in downtown New York than a tiny wheat belt town in SW Australia! Do detour just to experience a night here!

Literally nothing I could fault about the hotel at all. Sadly I can’t say the same about the hours of tedious driving through bland, desolate agricultural landscape to get here via wave rock! I’d skip the rock and just do the hotel! Probably the staff could brush up on their hosting skills. When we asked why the town was so deathly quiet in the middle of summer holiday season, at around 4pm, the member of stuff suggested it was because all the locals were at home taking meth, further responding that there is nothing else to do out here! This was in front of my 83 year old mother!🤦🏻‍♂️🤣

My husband and I stayed here the night before a hockey carnival in a neighbouring town. We've stayed here before and as last time, the rooms and hotel are beautiful. Its nice to see the old machinery retained and it adds a lot of character. Handy also having the Dome Cafe attached, we were able to go down in the evening and get a late night treat.

They had some live music playing in the basement level, which the music itself was well played and nice but once we returned to our room we could hear the base pulsing through for the following couple of hours until they finished.

Thoughtful architectural conversion of the old mill. Quality toiletries (Aesop)... but I'd expect no less at those prices! The bathroom was well-designed. Innovative touch light controls. For comparison, there are 4 star hotels in Sydney charging half this rate. Scarcity might be a factor. They seem to have a monopoly on accommodation in this town.

This room cost twice as much as any of our other accommodations, but I don't think it was justified. I was surprised that the exceedingly high tariff didn't include complimentary breakfast. I think bathrobes would have been a nice touch, too. Our room wasn't large by any means. A fridge in our room would have been preferable to the tiny one in the shared valet area.

We stay at the Premier Mill Katanning to break our journey to Albany. Retired and never in a hurry we make the journey twice a year to catch up with friends. It is special treat we give ourselves staying overnight in the beautiful Great Southern countryside. Staff are always welcoming giving advice on places to visit. We always enjoy an evening meal at the Cordial Bar enjoying great wine and food from their well chosen tapas menu. A good night’s sleep then a fine breakfast at the Dome Cafe then around 10am a leisurely drive via the magnificent Stirling Ranges to Albany. Thank for an enjoyable stopover.

I can’t fault the cleanliness and friendly staff.

We loved the historical feel mixed with a modern contemporary and comfortable accommodation. We loved the double head shower the fixtures and vanity fixtures, the toiletries that were provided were luxurious I brought my own but ended up using the Hotels, Bed and pillows were very comfortable we had a good nights sleep. Everywhere you turn there is another piece of history to discover, Loved that Dome was downstairs to grab a good coffee and a meal. Overall absolutely loved our stay Thank you.

Can’t think of anything everything was great!

This was our second stay at the Premier Mill Hotel. It is the most amazingly designed hotel that takes full advantage of its history, but with a modern twist. The shared spaces, bar and lounge area (with a slow combustion fire place) are very inviting and comfortable. There is a surprising twist around every corner of the building. You feel like you could be absolutely anywhere in the world when you walk through the entrance. You need to see it to believe it. 5 stars also for the Dome Cafe and the amazing breakfasts and dinners we enjoyed there.

Everything is perfect. Nothing could make it a better stay.

Not sure how to answer this, since breakfast wasn't provided as part of our stay, which seems to be implied in the question. (But now I cannot see what I thought I saw, which mentioned breakfast!) My wife enjoyed hers, but my muesli with yoghurt was VERY short on yoghurt, & the toasted muesli - as I ordered - was far too hard. The fruits were excellent. Coffee was really good - I had three flat whites so should know! From when The Mill first opened I expected a 'fine dining' restaurant. As a pub-styled menu it works, but not what we expected. All staff were fabulous, especially the young fellow in the basement bar - an exceptional space, with exceptional service. We were astonished to hear that until our visit, nobody had ever ordered a Reisling or a chardonnay! Abdul went out of his way to secure an aged Reisling, which was incredibly enjoyable. Thanks everyone for a wonderful stay, if brief. I do not want this shared online or wherever, other than among The Mill's staff & management. Thank you.

See above.

The most interesting hotel we’ve been to in a long time. So comfortable and relaxing. An excellent collection of travel ideas and a history/self-guided tour of the mill in the room. The butlers pantry on each floor had a coffee station. We ate in the cellar bar, good food and again parts of the old machinery there. Thank you so much to Ann who worked so hard for us to get our phone to cast to the room TV.

That we only stayed one night!

Once again loved staying in the Premier Mill - what an asset for Katanning, having a 4-5 star hotel in the middle of the wheatbelt. The most comfortable, well appointed rooms and superb bathroom/shower facilities. Love the Cordial Bar which has a unique atmosphere and a collection of locals to keep you entertained. The attached Dome has a wide and varied menu and does all the classics for breakfast and plenty of choices for lunch/dinner. The service was impressively fast and efficient and the presentation and quality of the food was as good as anything in the City.

There were some key items missing from the Bar menu (eg Tequila for the Tommy's Margarita!). Not too sure about the dead cat in the bar cabinet either! Otherwise was very happy with the hotel, bar and Dome restaurant.

It's the best location, Dome Cafe downstairs, also below that the Cordial Bar. The whole vibe was great. A very comfy room, down the hall, we had a valet room, where you could make tea or plunger coffee, fresh fruit was provided there. From the glass bottled water in our room to the fresh milk in a glass bottle, is fitting for the location. There is an elevator to get you to your floor. Easy access off the street, plenty off parking..the list goes on
