The alpine-style hotel situated in Schladming, offering a peaceful mountain getaway offering a adult-only peaceful mountain getaway with Stunning views, Clean and nicely decorated rooms.

As a guest who cannot comfortably stay without proper cooling, the lack of air conditioning could have been a serious inconvenience ( our fault of not proper researching) . Fortunately, due to the peaceful surroundings and cool weather, we were able to sleep with the doors and windows open during our night stay and enjoying the morning rise. In addition, while the self check-in process outside office hours was convenient, arriving by train without a rental car proved challenging for most the steep road to the hotel. We arrived early in the morning when no taxi services were available in town. It might be worth considering offering a hotel shuttle service for guests arriving by train outside regular hours, even if a small fee is charged for this service.

The hotel has no restaurant, but many options are close by. The breakfast is standard, but good buffet including some great bio cheese selection, juices, granolas, homemade bread and many others. Our room was clean and comfortable. On the first day, we arrived late and the reception was not open anymore, but we could do a self-checkin and the receptionist was very helpful through the phone too.

Originally, we wanted a room with AC, but somehow we managed to book one without, but this is probably my fault. Be careful with the pictograms when booking though, because it seems not every room at Erzherzog has AC. The nights are cool enough though to make up for it anyway. Another point was the thin sliding door that separated the bedroom and the bathroom, which we didn't like from the perspective of privacy.

Hotel is super cosy and modern. Room was nice and very clean (bed even had two pillows, which seems to be rare in Austria). We even had a Nespresso machine in the room which was nice. Breakfast was great and never too busy. You could even use the juicer to make your own juice. Parking was directly outside and free. I also really liked the little honesty bar where you could get your own drinks and snacks.

There was not much atmosphere in the hotel. People seem to use it only to sleep, the bar was very quiet and no one was ever in the lounge area. It was also quite a steep icy walk into town and the bus never turned up (the bus after 6pm is also not included with the ski pass so you have to pay if it did turn up).

Direct access to ski trail from the hotel. Nice and clean. Comfy saunas. Car park available outside.

Although breakfasts were tasty and fresh they were a bit monotonous and the same products were offered every single day. Hotel rooms/apartments lack electric kettle which would be very welcome by the guests.

The property is beautiful and there is a nice spa and breakfast.

There are some sensor backed nightlights next to the bed, every time the blanket slips they turn on. Would be great to have a way to turn them off. Other than that 10 out of 10

The views from the hotel room were amazing. Rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. The upkeep of the hotel is good. Breakfast was very good in the morning. We also enjoyed the sauna every day after skiing. The location was good, we rented a car. It was possible to drive to restaurants and the ski slopes.

Everything was good.

Nice interior design, great view out the front to Schladming. Fantastic breakfast with good coffee. Ski bus stops right in front of hotel, bur without a car you’re a bit stuck. Sauna area small but nice with water, tea and fruit provided. Not heavily used while we were there so it was ok. Ski storage and boot room excellent, so is the drying room for clothes etc. Rooms small but with balcony, nice design. Layout of bathroom a bit strange, note there’s a frosted glass door to the bathroom that gives some but not complete privacy. Room cleaning immaculate.

Hotel feels a bit abandoned as reception is vacated by 5pm. Hotel is advertised as “adult only” yet there were children at breakfast which we did not particularly mind, but it wasn’t clear what parts of the hotel are “adult only”. “Ski In/Out” a real mess with the warm weather as the hotel is about 100m from the slope and the connection just turned into a mudslide. The path also leads along the wellness area so while the sauna offers a nice view outside there is also a chance you’ll be seen by returning skiers while in the sauna.

Location was great, ski in and ski out, going into town was a 15 minute walk or a 5 min cab ride of 15,- euro

Some hassle about the breakfast not being included in the price for one room (booking had 2 rooms for 5 people)

Newly refurbished interior, excellent breakfast, easy late night check in, friendly receptionist

Compared how nice and new everything in this hotel is, maybe the bathroom in my room could be better

The view from the balcony was amazing, and the suite was nice and big.

The walk home from Schladming got easier the more we did it, but it is quite the hike :)
