My family and I stayed at the Recanto Alvorada for my son’s 2nd birthday. We arrived from Sorocaba. The drive was nice. We had no problem getting there. The resort itself is great! We enjoyed the Chalet and the amenities that it provided. The grounds are immaculately kept and the meals were excellent. My son loved the play areas and he had fun with the staff and programming. They were all very kind and helpful. Unfortunately, my kid was too young for some of the activities but I am glad he got a chance to experience different things. Insect management was by far the best I’ve seen, at least in the housing areas. I did not see or experience one mosquito bite! Every evening I would relax by the chalet and I never was bitten. As stated before, the dining area and the food were excellent! There was a nice variety and we never got tired of trying all of the entrees. Wanderlei was exceptionally helpful and always greeted us with a smile and recommendations. My son responded well to him. Wanderleigh also educated me about the local artisan beer and fortunately, I was able to try most of them! If you are able, get the “Kit de Brotus Cerveja”. It’s worth it.

Now, I wouldn’t hold this against the resort but there are some things that need to be improved: Firstly, The pool for children had areas where the concrete was chipped in disrepair and partially closed. A simple repair is all that is necessary. Secondly, on our second day, we did not receive any housekeeping service, despite having a placard on our door. We had to wait 4 hours before my wife managed to find someone to help us. Unfortunately, this person could not help us because she was the only one on shift that day.. The floor in our chalet needed cleaning (We have a 2-year-old). So we had to walk around on dirty/muddy floors for our stay. It sounds like a staff management problem. Lastly, the air conditioning unit in our chalet dripped water on our bed from time to time, especially at night. At this price point, that’s unacceptable. Other than that, we enjoyed our time at the Eco resort. It was a good experience for me and my family. The staff and the activities were great. I didn’t get a chance to fish or paddle a canoe but maybe next time. Although I can’t give them my highest recommendation, I would say give it a go.
