Small and cozy, with few rooms and a peaceful atmosphere. The building has a colonial charm, lots of wood, and light décor. Extremely friendly and attentive staff. High-quality breakfast. The pool is the highlight, offering an incredible view of the bay. A 10-minute walk leads to a paradisiacal beach with great restaurants. Quiet location, surrounded by the forest and near a small community.

The only downside is the wooden windows, which don’t insulate well, making it hard to maintain room temperature. There were occasional power outages, turning off the air conditioning at night.

Casa Mar Paraty is one of the most special places on earth. Gustavo and his team, including Gabriel, went above and beyond to make this vacation incredibly special for my family. Leading up to our stay, they were communicative, answering the several questions we had, and even helped me plan a surprise birthday celebration for my partner. The care that went into the birthday celebration exceeded my wildest expectations. It was the most special day. Although we were only there for two nights, we felt as though we were saying goodbye to our new home and new family on the day we left. The views are absolutely stunning, the design and architecture very tastefully done, and the activities nearby made for an absolutely wonderful trip. This is a place you go for pure tranquility. All you can hear are birds and waves. Words can't describe how special this place is. I will absolutely be back!

Beautiful setting , immaculate and very clean , great view over the inlet bay , good comfortable bedroom ,a unique well operated guesthouse for a good relaxed stay 😁

Basic breakfast although satisfying could be expanded to be more nutritious and interesting

My wife and I stayed here for around 9 days on our honeymoon and couldn't be happier with our choice! Gustavo was very attentive and helpful, arranging transport and trips for us to make the most of our time in Paraty and the local area. In fact, all of the staff were lovely and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The hotel is gorgeous, modern, and very clean. It's surrounded by greenery with a spectacular view over a beach out to the sea. We wanted quite a relaxed holiday so spent most of our time relaxing at the hotel, taking in the view, swimming, or on our room's balcony. Paraty (10 mins by car) as a town was enjoyable with a good selection of bars and restaurants, although we mainly enjoyed just wandering the streets and taking in the sun. Definitely check out Atelier do Dalcir if you like ceramics and Montañita Cafés if you like coffee. Overall we can't fault our whole experience and didn't want it to end. Hopefully we can return in the future to celebrate an anniversary - thank you Gustavo and team!

That we had to leave? The hotel and its setting were practically paradise and I would definitely recommend staying for longer than a day or two to really get into the relaxation vibe.

The sea wasn't very clean but not the fault of the property, but was a shame, sea food restaurant on the beach was great though

I'm giving a 10 because I can't give 11 ! The pousada is just amazing in all aspects. From the kindness of Gustavo and his partner and their team to the zen atmosphere you feel from the very first minute when you arrive. The breakfast is as spectacular as the view from the infinity pool. The high ceiling rooms with direct access to the nature and the very confortable and large bed will make you sleep like a baby, even with the windows open, no need for A/C. The little beach and beach restaurant is accessible directly from a stair going down from the pousada.

Everything was incredible! The service is exceptional, and such a beautiful, relaxing space. the views, the food and facilities are also perfect! you are a little further out from the old town of Paraty but it is a short car journey away and you have easy access to taxi’s that the hotel arranges for you so you have best of both worlds, and you are close to a beautiful beach and restaurant.

Beautiful and quiet hotel. Lovely rooms. Communal area very cool. Breakfast exceptional, lunch was yummy and owners always extremely helpful. It is outside the main area of Paraty, which is perfect if you want relaxation. Great beach below the hotel, where you watch the fishermen set off each morning. You can use the hotel kayaks to explore the local surroundings, which are beautiful. We saw dolphins and turtles!

the location is just amazing, the view from the terrace is perfect to wind down. the staff is great and always really helpful! a big plus is the 24h honesty bar where you can mix your own caipirinha with quality cachaca! my personal highlight were the two resident cats.

if the weather is bad (as it was for us for 2 out of 5 days) there is not a lot to do in the area.

Perfect location in a beach just 15 minutes from Paraty. Decorated with very good taste. Fantastic view over the bay and helpful staff.
