We were looking for somewhere to relax for a few days and it was exactly that! Really enjoyed the tours that they offer (reasonable price for an almost private tour) and the fact that they provide transport to the mainland for 70 reals (much cheaper than private.
It is very isolated with only one tiny shop on the beach but we didn’t mind this as we were looking for peace and quiet. The hotel bar/restaurant is very reasonably priced too.

An idyllic setting on Ihla Grande - lovely grounds, great chill areas, luscious grass, plenty of areas to relax and eat and play cards. Adjoining beach super quiet and peaceful. Thank you so much to the staff - especially for making a gorgeous cake for my fiancée on her birthday and really spoiling us throughout.
Nothing, it was all perfect.

The ground are beautiful, staff is friendly and helpful. It is an ideal place to go with a group of families with kids.
The posada could do with some upkeep: renewing ping-pong paddles and pool sticks. Location isn't great as the beach nearby isn't the prettiest and there are not many dinning options.

The food was good, the staff was very friendly, the garden was beautiful and so was the beach.
The pool was quite dirty (the water was not transparent anymore), the air conditioner was super loud (we didn't even turn ours on but the neighbours was so loud it disturbed our sleep a bit), the shower was either scalding hot or not hot at all

Staff was amazingly friendly and helped us plan an amazing stay on the island. Talking with us about the possible trips and how to have the best day possible.

Unfortunately we had a terrible experience at this hotel. When we booked, it told us we had booked the last room, however upon arrival we learnt we were the only guests in the hotel. The hotel is extremely remote and you cannot travel easily to other locations, which would be fine if there was some atmosphere at the hotel but it was dead. Most of the hotel was shut down, there was a skeleton staff on and the owner even laying on the sofa watching soap operas loud in the restaurant area. We cut our stay short as it was an uncomfortable atmosphere and the hotel denied offering any compensation, which we felt was disappointed as we had been miss-sold that the hotel had a vibrant and social feel.

The staff and communication were absolutely shocking. English speakers especially, I really don’t recommend. First time to feel this way about any property. It is awkward but manageable to travel from Rio, the staff were zero help. I messaged a couple of days before my stay confirming how I would get to the property, when I didn’t get a reply I messaged to say I was anxious about the logistics, still no reply. On the day we were to arrive I messaged again and got a vague reply and then they stopped answering until the second day of our stay, when we were already there. It turns out that when you know how to get from the main port it is very very easy to co-ordinate, but we ended up paying €50 more and spending hours at the Port trying to organise. With no reply from the staff. When we arrived and tried to check in, the man spoken to us in portugese despite us explaining in portugese and by Google translate that we didn’t understand . I then handed him my phone so he could use google translate and he wafted it away and continued to speak in portugese. Throughout the stay, announcements of the daily boat tours were in Portuguese only. Despite the person doing the announcements being able to speak English. After the announcements we would ask for translation and they would leave out details such as where the tour boat would go to, so we had to ask fellow guests to properly translate. The main man who seems to be the boss spoke really horribly to staff, to the lovely young boy working at the bar mainly, really embarassing him. Please message me if you would like more details but honestly the staff ruined this stay and our ihla grande trip.
