Friendly staff, very nice restaurant/outdoor area by the pool, excellent free breakfast (buffet), AC and hot water worked well enough, airport shuttle was on time ($10 each way). Hotel can change money for you at a good rate-- roughly 7600/1USD july 25). power outages were infrequent and very brief (generator on site?). Close to the bus station (5 min walk) and 12 min drive to the airport

Likely not the hotel's fault but no water one day. Bujumbura hotels are expensive for foreigners and they generally require payment in dollars.

I did not get the room booked - garden view and could not explain to reception that I should get what I booked. Staff in restaurant is very friendly but meals of poor quality. For breakfast no fruit juice offered - in a tropical country!!!

I had a great stay at Kangaroo Hotel. The bed was very comfortable with a big mosquito net, the WiFi was good, and buffet breakfast was nice and big, and I had lots of hot water for showers. Nicky at reception spoke very good English and was really helpful. The location is just a two minute walk from the main market, which is fun to visit. There are lots of taxis nearby to take you around Bujumbura. Highly recommend!

Amazing reception all the way from airport. The staff flaternity is awesome. So kind and nice all the way. Hotel environment very smart, clean and well maintained.

I didn't like the fact that i could not understand Kirundi a language that sounded so intresting and i think that could have made my stay more and more amazing..... hopefully will be taking lessons for next time.
