Sweet little owner-run motel in Fauquier, literally one minute from the ferry. We got in late and were rushing to catch the ferry when we checked out so we didn't really have a chance to chat with the owners much but our limited interactions were very pleasant and they seemed like lovely people. I had indicated when I had booked that we would be arriving late. This was no problem at all and they had the check-in paperwork ready for us when we arrived so the process took two minutes at most. The grounds are very well cared for and the owners clearly care about their property and their guests. The building is older and the furnishings/art are dated but everything was in great condition and the mattresses were super comfortable. Nothing was worn or damaged and the unit was spotless. We had a three-bed unit and the layout was a bit odd but it was great to have two beds in a separate room. The kitchenette was very well appointed and had everything we needed, including a full-size fridge! There was also a communal outdoor BBQ area and it looked like lots of areas outdoors to lay back and relax. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again.

There was nothing that I didn't like. The furnishings were a bit dated but not shabby at all. And given the price point, I wouldn't expect something super modern and expensive feeling.

Extremely clean rooms, beautiful outdoor spaces and well kempt. Lovely view and quiet. Did I mention exceptionally clean? Also the blankets were somehow the warmest and yet most comfortable (not too hot) blankets I've used in a motel in a while. Friendly and easy check in as well. There is a small pseudo convenience store at the front, essentially you can buy a frozen pizza or some snacks and the owner will bake it for you if it needs cooking. We came in and we were a little hungry but didn't realize Fauquier didn't have a restaurant and the owner suggested these goodies. Unfortunately, we are celiac so we had to decline, however she offered us watermelon 🍉 from her own kitchen. If I wasn't watching my blood sugar I would have taken her up on that. That was extremely kind and sweet of her to do and that gesture was the best treatment we had in our stay around this area. Thank you for being so kind!

If I had to be picky I would say beds are a little soft and one burner on the stove didn't heat up very well. Again, these are minor things because the stay overall was excellent. This is a pretty good gem if you want to outside of Nakusp or can't find accommodation in Nakusp.

Everything. The moment you drive up, you can see the pride in ownership. Everything about this place is exceptional. The rooms are clean and well laid out. All renovated and we'll kept. The grounds are amazing. Has several separate areas, a roman type gazebo, a covered firepit area, beautiful log picnic tables, a couple gardens you can sit in and enjoy & lawn chairs in several locations as well. We were 2 couples on Motorcycles, we bought food from Nakusp and cooked breakfast on the grill, and BBQ'd suppers. They have a grill and 2 BBQ's for guests to use. Anything we needed, we just had to ask and the owners provided. The owners were so friendly and helpful to answer any questions we had about the area. Can't say enough good things about the owners and this place. We will definitely be back again.

Loved everything.

The location was fabulous. Outside amenities were terrific and clean. Lovely areas to sit and enjoy the sunset. The facilities in the room were good and it was spotlessly clean. So quiet. The family that owned the motel were so helpful with tips on where to go and visit within the area. Nakusp is 30 mins away where you can pick up fresh food if needed. The motel is 500 yards away from the Faruquier to Needles ferry crossing. There is a 9 hole Golf course across the road which looked fantastic. Wish we had stayed longer.

The location was perfect for our group., avalanche course students to fly out of staging area at Burton. 3 beds for our group to spread out. Very friendly host. Quiet., clean and comfortable

A small breakfast would have been great as we jumped into our course right away after meeting in Burton and there isn't anything too much around that is open in winter or at that early time in the morning

The staff were very accommodating. The property is very thought out so people can enjoy themselves individually and cook on the set up barbecues if they need to.

I wish there were sheer curtains on the windows as well as the curtains to let more natural light in, and so ppl walking by can't see in your room.

We arrived late. The lady at the front desk, was kind, and super accomodating. At that time everything was clised, and she went out of her way to get us a meal. Cant say enough on how well we were treated. The lost art of customer service is alive and well. Truly thank you. We will go.out of our way to stay here again .

Nice quiet location. Rooms are clean. Owners are super friendly and nice.

The rooms are nice, but the trimmings were outdated (curtains, window coverings etc). The floors were also very creaky, but these are just minor things and can be ignored. The only real stand out was the door lock was very flimsy and there was no deadbolt, so didn't really feel very secure. Having said that, the motel is in Faquier...

This is a gem! A unexpected pleasure. Liz is a incredible. hard working host. Since this is quite remote you have to arrange for your own meals as there are not any food facilities nearby. Liz offered to sell us a frozen pizza and cook it in her oven.

Since this is not near any food source make sure you have food to either Bar-b-q on provided fires or bring something to microwave.

This is one of the most beautiful places I’ve stayed at. The owner are so friendly and gave us lots of suggestions on where to eat and little hidden gems areas to visit. The rooms were very clean and updated. Comfortable beds, microwave and a very nice size fridge with a freezer. What most impressed us was the beautiful landscape and grounds. We didn’t just sit in our room they have beautiful areas with picnic tables and lots of lounge chairs. I really can’t say enough good things about this place. I would rate this a 15 star out of a 10 if I could
