We had a great stay at The Homeward Inn in Antigonish! The location was perfect—right beside a McDonald’s, which made grabbing a quick bite super convenient. The staff were incredibly friendly and thoughtful; they even called us when we didn’t arrive at the expected time to make sure everything was okay and that we were still coming. We were initially concerned it might be noisy due to the location, but it was actually very quiet. The entire inn was clean and well-kept, which made for a really comfortable experience. Would definitely stay again!

Very accommodating! The front desk was exceptionally friendly and helpful. I couldn’t get the tv going but I didn’t ask for help either so I won’t complain much about that :) The view from my room was just the highway/another building but I didn’t go there for the view. The motel is so conveniently located between many fast food options. Check out is seamless. Can leave keys in the room, or bring them to the receptionist! Can’t beat the prices at homeward! I was also travelling with a pet which they happily accommodated for a small fee. Will always return to this spot!

The lady in reception was very helpful and we were greeted with a wonderful smile. The accomodation was very clean and well decorated. The bathroom was wonderful with grab rails in all the right places and lovely new bathroom suite. Also new easy to use heat pump.

The curtain were far too long and were directly behind and resting on the Microwave and coffee machine, definitely a fire hazard right next to the only excit. suggest a roller blind which is fire retardant. Did tell the receptionist my concerns but not sure she understood.

Clayton and Diane and Reaghan in the office were always available, cheerful and helpful, with coffee and creamers and local directions. Housekeeping was unobtrusively attentive. Much nearby is walkable, like the Snow Queen diner, the St. FX campus (for theatre or sporting events), and even Main Street is walkable in nice weather (we encountered rain and so drove for meals on Main Street during our visit). Antigonish is a nice launching pad for Cape Breton after a drive up from Halifax.

Meaning no disrespect, I might describe this motel as two-star accommodations with a five-star heart. Nothing fancy, but absolutely perfect, depending upon what you need ... roomy sleeping quarters in a great location with wonderful staff.

We had three families, and possibly 2 dogs, travelling together and this was great for our purposes. The dogs didn't come. There were a lot of food choices close by, considering we were travelling with 5 children, between the ages of 3 and 15.

The queen sized room's refrigerator was not working. There was a physical fight between 2 men in front of the room that I stayed in.

This is our 3rd time staying at this motel. Our youngest goes to university here and we like how close to everything we need. It’s always clean, tidy and perfect for the amount of time actually spend there. There are other motels(not close) and other hotels(reviews suck). We tried this one September 2023 and our fifth trip east will be Sept 2024 and it will be our fourth time staying here.

It’s dated, but clean

Place was clean, comfortable, and worth the fee. Nearby conveniences/restaurants very handy. Was able to request hair dryer at front desk (not in room). Nice little fridge and microwave, keurig machine with pods and real creamers. Nice to be able to park 4 feet from my door!

Not serious, but helpful: 1) Kindly put some rubber grips on the bathtub floors! I am disabled with balance problems, and yes a wall bar is great, but that sucker was still slippery! 2) Leave a plastic sheet guide telling guests * how to adjust the heat pump*. Googling Greer remote control guides at 3am is not fun! Once I figured it out though, lots of heat 😁

The location is excellent -- close to several fast-food restaurants and to StFX University. The property is attractive. The room was spacious. A/C was great! Having a small fridge and microwave is very helpful.

The bed and pillows weren't the most comfortable -- pillows were mushy and the mattress was hard. The light from the heat pump display is very bright at night. Meanwhile, it would be nice if there was some kind of nightlight for the bathroom. I would prefer having hair conditioner as well as shampoo (not an all-in-one).

Close to work and the staff party location and also close to food places and able to get some shopping done also.

I was in one room and my parking spot was in front of another room and pretty close to their door to stay within the lines, if busier it would be weird to walk out of a room to someone else’s vehicle.

We didn’t know there was breakfast. The location is just right. It was our first time to visit the place. I like that it is close to restaurant where we are fond of buying snacks.

The television in our room didn’t work or we just don’t know how to operate it. It was very old for us. The remote control is hard to press.
