This hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff was lovely since the beginning, the room was cozy and warm, the food at the restaurant was delicious and always available, and it was great to have facilities like sauna and swimming pool after a long day out. (Breakfast was delicious too). The internet was fast and available from all the places of the hotel, which is great for people who travel for work. The location was more than excellent, having the main places very close, like Castro Cathedral, many cafes and restaurants, crafts fair, and the coast.

Location is great to be close to downtown Castro and sea port, being able to walk to most places in downtown. That means you suffer from traffic when you want to leave the city for other tours. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast buffet excellent. The restaurant for dinner was also very good and with reasonable prices.

Beware that the standard rooms are in the older building without an elevator, and you may get a room on the 4th floor!! If you definitively need an elevator, then get a suite on the newer building which has elevator, otherwise, make sure you get a room in the first or second floor.

It's a big old hotel: probably the first one of it's class in the city. The location is just great. It has wifi, sauna, indoor pool (all free), great breakfast, and great staff. They change our room so we could get a better view of the sea, they helped us with our bags and they were very attentive to any request.

As an old building, it has some issues. Our bathroom stopped having water like 3 times, but it everytime it was fixed rapidly after calling the desk (less than 5 minutes). The room was a bit too small.

Great location. All attractions in Castro in walking distance. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was quite good. Parking, free, that felt secure in front of the hotel is a plus given its location.

The hotel felt a bit dated. Rooms clean, but interior old, including beds, etc. Asked for a quiet room but was quite noisy since doors towards the reception did not provide much insolation.

The location is great. The building from the outside looks a bit worn out but the inside is in pretty good shape. The rooms are not large but sufficient. The view priceless! The breakfast very good. Great location and the basicilica within a few hundred meters walk where there are plenty of good restaurants.

The Hotel de Castro is well located in the center of Castro with a nice view. The rooms are quite spacious. The dinner was excellent, the breakfast very good. The employee at reception was very friendly, they helped us with the baggage.

The facilities are a bit aged and not always well maintained

the location is very good, staff very helpful and most spoke English, breakfast good and plenty and it has a nice clean spa with free use of sauna, hot tub (outside which is lovely) and steam room and pool. My room in the old building at 4th floor had a nice view to the sea.

Sadly that room also was extremely noisy at night as there was a dicso/bar across the street, the dogs barked all night and the birds also never stopped ha ha...the room is quite 'tired' from the furniture and needs renovation. had two beds but they were both very small and not great. Staff offered a room on second floor for more quiet but then I would sacrifice the nice views...

Perfect location, with a wonderful view on the bay. The whole hotel has beautiful windows from which you can admire the bay even under the rain, the whole atmosphere is cozy.

The building is a bit old, including the spa, but overall has a good value for money

Very beautiful hotel, excellent breakfast, very nice rooms and common areas. It is walking distance from stores and restaurants. Staff are super friendly and helpful.

Bed was on wheels and so if I tried to sit on the bed and lean against the wall, the bed would move.

Breakfast was very good; fresh fruit, tasty scrambled eggs and good coffee. Nice staff. Location very central in Castro - yet quiet- and the hotel had its own parking ground. Overall good value for what we paid.
