Air conditioning not cool

It was another excellent stay at this establishment and it is now my go to for any stays I have in Beijing. I flew in from the UK and went straight to the hotel by taxi and was quickly booked in by the receptionist Zhang Lin who was very friendly and professional throughout - this is no small thing regards booking in hotels in China which can be labourious and time consuming process which is the last thing you need after a long haul flight but Zhang Lin understood that I needed my bed and was very efficient in getting me booked in and to my room. When I booked out - the gentlemen on reception were very friendly and helpful in getting me a taxi to Beijing South railway station and helped me out of the door with my heavy luggage which was much appreciated. The breakfast is also excellent! Loads of dishes and they taste great, room was great and had a welcoming note for me written in English which I thought was a nice touch.

Nothing, I was massively satisfied with the service.

We did have a lovely time staying in this hotel. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, the manager at the front desk Mr Peter Zhou deserves a special mention. Mr Zhou was very helpful right from the time we wrote to him seeking information on transport from the airport to the hotel. He was particularly helpful and answered all our questions promptly. Once we arrived at the hotel Mr Zhou continued to provide all the help we required. Thank you Mr Zhou. During our stay, the ladies at the breakfast area were very helpful too when we approached them for local information. Overall we enjoyed our stay. A big thank you to everyone in Holiday Inn Temple of Heaven, we strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in Beijing.

Nothing ! Everything was fine during our stay.

Holiday Inn Temple of Heaven is a very convenient place to stay in Beijing. It is closer to the city center and acts as a very central location to many amenities. The Great Wall is merely an hour’s ride away. The tour group picked and dropped us from the hotel mainly due to the hotel’s convenient location. The Temple of Heaven is one ride away as well. Rooms and facilities were good. It is not very extravagant but good for travelers like me. Staff are super helpful. James Liu at the reception and the housekeeping staff (forgot his name) were super super helpful. Appreciate their help.

The buffet dinner could be bit better and provide a range of options.

The hotel locates in an old local neighbourhood with many good and affordable eateries, and grocery stores. The bus stops of several lines are around the corner while two metro lines 5 and 14 are within 15-min walking distance. The staffs are super efficient and friendly. The room I stayed in (king size high floor), is spacious, comfortable and with a lovely view to the north overlooking the neighbourhood streets covered by greens and temple of heaven. The swimming pool is of a good size to stretch myself every day from 7-22. The gym is a bit outdated with few strength and muscle training machines. But it’s enough for some basic training. The overall stay was very good and I recommend it highly.

The only downside is the banging noise from the guest room doors. The design seems not ideal as the doors are too heavy and have no soft closing mechanism to dampen the loud sound.

This is a nice hotel that serves an outstanding breakfast buffet. There is so much choice! Nice big swimming pool as well. The hotel is fairly close to the nearest subway station (about a 15 minute walk), so very easy to get around Beijing. Subway travel is super cheap and you can pay with cash or card at most stations. You should bear in mind that you will need your passport with you for some of the attractions, and there are security checks at all of the stations.

The fire door outside our room did not have a damper on it, so it banged every time somebody used it (hotel staff?).

The room was quite clean, and the bed was comfortable. Zhang Subo and Yan Ning kept my room tidy and always ensured that the water bottles were refilled for the hot days during my stay. At the front desk, Maria Lu was very helpful. She is one of the few staff members who can speak English, and she kindly took the time to briefly explain the tourist spots in Beijing.

Most of the staff communicated via the translation app. It sometimes took time to explain and understand each other.

We liked the breakfast offer, it was really a wide range of fresh food from national to international. The staff was kind and helpfull during the breakfast.

Unfortunately the reception staff speaks no english, so it makes it very difficult to ask for information. We booked a room on the high floors (14-15), but we received a room on the 6th floor, so I was a little disappointed, I expected to have a better view. The hotel needs really a deep renovation, the carpets are worn and lost color, the furnitures are old and demaged, such as the wall- and floor tiles of the rooms and corridors. The hall and the breakfast room is OK however.The downloaded chinese maps places this hotel to a differnt place, so first we walked to a bad destination, being terrorized it even doesn't exist. Furtunately google map worked at that point well enough to show us where to look for. Jingtai is the closest metro station, than 700 m of walk.

The hotel left us with only positive impressions! We had a wonderful time, and we would especially like to highlight the work of two employees — Joseph Wang and Cui Gong Hao. We encountered a small issue: we forgot our gifts for our colleagues from Russia and were very upset about it. But at that moment, Joseph Wang came to our rescue! He showed incredible responsiveness and friendliness by sending our items to us by mail in record time. Thanks to his help, we were able to delight our colleagues from China! A big thank you to Joseph Wang for his professionalism and care! We are immensely grateful to him and the entire hotel staff for the excellent service. We will definitely return again!

Everything was super, we had a great stay. The staff were really very lovely including our room steward Youth Yang. The location was handy near 3 metro stations. Breakfast was amazing, great choice. We had an excellent view from the 15th floor. The pool was a bonus too and the water was nice and warm. We ate locally at a couple of restaurants which were very nice and in the in-house restaurant which was excellent. It was clean and safe & the room size was really good with a bath & shower. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again.
