The staff were friendly and very helpful, right from the doorman and reception staff to the lady who cleaned and replenished our room (daily). Our corner room - with bath and large shower - was a magnificent size with a panoramic view, giant comfortable bed and even electronically switchable opaque glass between bedroom and bathroom. We spent 6 days working in the Li-wan Plaza wholesale building which is an easy 10 minutes walk away, as is the jade market area, while main shopping streets are on the doorstep. Could not be better located for us. The comprehensive Asian/Western breakfast with hundreds of choices gave us the ideal start to the day, while some free drink tokens helped us relax in the bar at night. This was the first time I have stayed at this hotel although my wife has been staying here for business for many years and reports that it was extensively refurbished after COVID.

The only issue I had was when ordering a car to take me back to the airport. The concierge organised a taxi. I asked whether I could pay at the hotel and was told I should pay the driver. When I got to the airport I discovered I couldn't pay with a card, only cash. I had no cash, so it turned into a drama involving the airport police, airline customer service people and so on. Eventually I changed currency at the airport to pay the driver. Fortunately I had allowed plenty of time and I made the flight OK. I feel the hotel could have wanted me it was cash only and then I could have sorted it out before I left the hotel.

Staff were very nice and accommodating. Free chicken biscuit at check-in was a cute bonus. Doormen/security at the front are very helpful. Housekeeping was good. Free bottled every day in your room was very convenient. Gym was nice and new, pool was nice too and lifeguard available. Hotel inside looks out of place compared to the surroundings, it's beautiful inside; lobby actually on the 4th floor, not at ground level.

Poor view outside the windows. Located in the old city. next to the a famous shopping/pedestrian street so the main entrance is actually a side street, makes hailing taxis a bit inconvenient because they won't drive down that alley unless they are dropping off another hotel guest.

Dear Hotel GM Would like to do some feedbacks :- 1. I ask your reception, what is the rating of your hotel ? Reception told me "NO" stars ! (are they train) ?? 2. Request for room 637 (we enjoyed our stay during our last visit) because we like the rooms and booked our 2nd biz trips 5 nights but was not given to us but she upgrade us to next category which I wasn't impressed due to the configuration of the toilets. 3. I used a lot of computer in the room and I do not have proper chair or table which I am seating on a sofa chair to do my work which is really very uncomfortable. If its for biz travellers, can you consider putting a proper writing table and chairs instead of the dinning chairs, ottoman ? 4. Do consider putting additional portable luggage rack in each rooms as I saw in my own eyes, the travellers is putting their bag on top of the table ? You should ask your room attendance for feedbacks and for long terms it will damage the table. It's cost more damages than to save that additional luggage rack.

The hotel was good and clean That is, the hotel itself and the inside of the hotel were clean But because it's in the middle of the market, the food smells bad at the door of the hotel, and there is a very bad smell of food in the elevator at the entrance to the lobby. It would be great if they could think about this Of course, the variety of breakfast was really low

I appreciate friendly and caring attitude of all the staff we met at Voco hotel! Wyman, Nancy, Oscar, Goria - front desk, always assisted a lot. Wyman was our best hope - whether it was transfer to the fair or to the airport, issue with a bank or packing our luggage, he would always give it his maximum attention, find fast and effective solutions, genuinely caring and supportive gentleman. Also gentlemen and ladies who meet at the entrance, in Western and Chinese restaurants, fitness area - it was pleasure to meet you, thanks for all your effort because you made our stay so much easier and nice! It is my second stay at this hotel and it was a nice surprise after the renovation. Bed linen, 2 kinds of pillows, big and comfortable bed, soft towels, bath toiletries and spacious room - I like it all:) Breakfasts and dinner at Chinese restaurant - tasty, plenty of dishes. Quiet and calm atmosphere - very good, just what it necessary after long travel or busy day, I had really good rest. Dear Voco team, thank you for another lovely stay! Everything was amazing, we were for canton fair the past October, and the room, food, shuttle, staff and places in the hotel and around it was wonderful; we were for work but the hotels location is really close to make some tourist, old town Guanzhou and pearl river let us to know more about city, and is just 10 minutes walking to the train station named cultural park! We are so thankful by the hotel and we will come back

Excellent location. Pedestrian shopping mall and convenience stores and eateries downstairs. Quiet and very spacious room and bathroom with couch and dining table. Big comfy beds. The "singles" are more like doubles. Nice wood floors, so no lingering dirty carpet smells. Attentive staff. Good buffet breakfast.

Inconsistent charges. Receptionist tried to charge us 850+RMB security deposit, even though booking confirmation clearly stipulated 499RMB! Mould in bathroom needs to be cleaned.

Hotel location of Voco Guangzhou Shifu was excellent. It is within walking distance to many local attractions, like Yongqingfang, Shangshajiu Pedestrian Street and Shamian Island. Hotel room was spacious, modern, comfortable and clean. Hotel staff were professional. helpful, pleasant and friendly. In particular, Mr Wyman Lee who answered all our queries of various attractions and helping us to arrange transportation. Truly grateful for his time and efforts. We had a wonderful stay at Voco Guangzhou Shifu and will definitely recommend to friends who plan to visit Guangzhou in the future.

The only thing I would like to mention was the dispenser for shampoo, conditioner and bath gel. One need to pump a few times in order to get the appropriate amount.

The concierge Mr. Stephen Poon was exceptionally professional and the best concierge we have ever experienced. Helped us a lot with calling the taxi, finding an address, picking up our luggage, and making our stay superb. He is literally running that hotel, helping with everything, there is no job beneath him, he takes pride in ensuring that every guest is taken care of and the hotel is immaculate, the men cleaned the floors at one point. He exemplifies what being of service used to be. He does a marvellous job also at training the young ones. Was amazing to watch him be that excellent of a service with everyone. The young James who checked us in was so gracious and helpful all the time and very professional. The staff there is just amazing. The hotel itself is superb, very clean and with quite big rooms, filled with everything you need for a comfortable stay. This is what hotels used to be, and Voco is still maintaining the standard of service by making one feel special. We even extended our stay twice. The neighbourhood is old China and quite an experience in itself. The cleaners are very friendly and do a great job. The menu for breakfast is extensive and caters to everyone. The price for the hotel was also reasonable in comparison to many so-called 5 stars hotels that promise a lot and fail to deliver. We will be visiting again, I am certain this is our new address away from home. We give it 10 stars.
