Terrific place. The bungalow is well-equipped and comfortable, and the location and view are terrific, right on the beach. Chantelle on reception was excellent, picking me up from the airport and dropping me off on departure day, and answering all my questions. She booked a boat trip for me, and I had a great day out. Years ago, I used to work with tourists just one day a week and know how hard it can be to be polite, enthusiastic and friendly all the time, but she achieved it, day in, day out. The accommodation is close to several cafes/restaurants so perfect if, like me, you don't hire a car or scooter.

Very good Budget accomodation directly at the most beautiful lagoon on Aitutaki. Clean small room with all you need. No luxury but absolutely suitable for the price you pay. Nice sunbeds and kayaks available to enjoy the lagoon. Inhouse car rental for a very good price and easy to book. Walking distance to Koru Cafe, Blue Lagoon Restaurant and the Boatshed.

Room was lovely, just steps away from picture perfect sandy lagoon. Private deck with BBQ and umbrella! (rain) Comfortable bed with nice linen. Pool is a nice touch, well kept. Grounds are lovely. We loved the roosters and hens and chicks. Very handy to restaurants and cafes. Local cafe stocks a few basics. The retreat can organize rental cars or scooters to go further afield (supermarket or exploring) Would recommend.

Host was late to pick us up, no leis! Not a deal breaker, but since most others on the flight got them, it would have been nice! We arrived on a rainy day. I love an outside shower, but not a cold one, out in the rain!!! Our unit was solar powered! we were allowed to shower in one of the other units until the sun came out. On the last night we transferred to the budget unit as the place was full. I would not recommend staying in the cheaper units. The mattress was old and uncomfortable, air conditioner too noisy to use at night, ants, no umbrella, no pool towels. Apparently, the price we paid didn't run to having a pool towel. Think original NZ beach bach. Shame to finish up with this experience.

The room was perfect, clean and around ten meters from the lagoon - which by the way I think is one of the most beautiful on the island. The place was calm - like the whole island. Our host was amazing! She was very helpful and kind. Restaurants and cafe in walking distance. I can only recommend the place!

I could not open a coconut. I’ve tried, but I think I have to go back to learn that skill.

The location of this Ranginui retreat is amazing!! if you are looking for a.place that's provides all the views, feels and relaxation - this is your spot!! Dylan and the team were so accommodating to our daily requests - sometimes very last minute, but catered to our needs. loved that the pool was jus outside our door and then the lagoon was steps away- our room was perfect for what we needed.

it's not even a dislike but more of - a thing... you will need a car of uiu want to go into the main town and see the whole island.... we didn't mind we hired a car and got to see the island.

You cannot beat the location of this place especially for the price. The rooms are basic, with no TV, but what you get is a million dollar view and the water on your doorstep. Right around the corner is one of the best restaurants and down the road is a great cafe. Slightly around the road is a pub. We only stayed a night but would definitely book this place again when we next come over for longer. The host is great.

Nothing really - you get the water on your doorstep for a fraction of the cost of other places. The only thing, which is small, is there's no TV in the room if you're staying longer. However, you should really be looking outside at the view!

Even though we had the budget room, it was still an excellent spot to be in. We could see the lagoon from our bedroom window. These rooms didn’t have air conditioning but the fan was good enough for us. We didn’t need to use the pool as the lagoon was all you needed. Make sure at night you don’t leave your door open as my husband did and let in a few mosquitoes and mini cockroaches. Airport transfers were great. Koru Cafe and The Boatshed was walking distance to go eat at. Both places had yummy food! You can hire scooters and car directly from here. Town is on the other side, I would suggest to hire a scooter and ride into town to explore. I can’t wait to come back and stay here! And will try the other rooms for that outdoor shower experience haha. They also have Vodafone Hotspot if you need to access to internet, we got a $25 voucher for 5g. And we both used it. Thanks Steve for all your help!

The only thing I would suggest to take is insect repellent. It helped us a great deal even on our brown skin.

The location is stunning, right on a lagoon, walk out of your room and straight into the water, the rooms were clean and spacious with comfortable beds, the kitchen has your basic setup which is ideal as you are out most of the time on the island. There is aircon which cools down the room in the evening to help you get to sleep and stay comfortable.

needed fresh towels after day two, we took our own towels and would hang up our used towels outside on the little drying racks they provided, but after a few days a fresh towel would have been nice. Other than that, it had everything you needed there, and helpful staff.

Our booking was very last minute so we really appreciated the immediate response to our request. Airport pickup/drop off was so well received by us both. Took the stress off us to organize. We were not expecting to hire a car but we did with the help from staff who arranged everything for us. We were spoilt. Our room met our needs but our beachfront access was the absolute picture perfect paradise.

By the second and third day of our stay, we were just starting to truly unwind and settle into life in paradise. It was bliss and so unbelievably serene. Just the two of us. Unfortunately we had to leave this idyllic picturesque landscape. Our stay was too short.
