The staff were very polite, helpful & professional. Service was excellent. Special thanks to Reji , Nijisha, Sudeep , Ashwathi. & Mithila. Nijisha made it extra special by decorating the room beautifuly for my birthday. Thanks Nijisha! Property is beautiful but we couldn't access the beach from the property due to the rains. The gate leading to the beach from the property was cordoned off and that was a disappointment. Housekeeping was good and everything was neat and clean. All in all we had a great stay!

There is no lift in the hotel but luckily we got a room just below the reception area with a direct access to the pool so it was convenient. I noticed there was no doorman throughout our stay which I found strange. The food/breakfast was good but not exciting enough.

We had a super relaxing stay at this hotel. From when we were collected from the train station to when we sadly had to checkout, nothing was too much for the friendly and professional staff. The beautiful grounds overlooking the ocean, the 'warm bath' temperature large pool and huge breakfasts were all fab. Easy also to travel round - the path to other parts of Varkala really helpful too. Thanks for our exceptional stay.

Only minor grumble would be the tennis racquets and balls. The actual court is great. But the racquets have seen better days and the only two balls available.

This hotel has everything you need to make it a comfortable and memorable stay, with excellent personal service from warm and friendly staff. We really enjoyed our meals taken in the restaurant. A special mention has to go to Rahana and Shisha who were very attentive and helpful with our meal choices and room service. The pool is ultra calm and relaxing, with added bonus of Babu, who took great care in making sure we had all we need. Sudeep and Bibinesh were very helpful on reception with our travel and extra services. Our room had a great view and balcony with cleaning service every day - bliss!

The hotel has a great view of the sea and nice sunsets from the beautiful balcony, pool, and almost all of the seven rooms we booked for 3 nights. My family liked the one-man band playing very good nostalgic English music and a very good buffet for the gala Christmas Eve dinner party. The pool is well maintained. The daily buffet breakfast was great the rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. We went out for dinner to the Varkala cliffs and other good dinner venues because we wanted to taste the variety of foods that were being offered with live music. at much lower prices.

There was no direct entrance to the beach from the propery.,and it being old property there was no lift and it was difficult to get around with many steps to climb. even though they have a handicap ramp and offered my 94-year-old mother a wheelchair and assistance.

The hotel has stunning grounds which are maintained to a high level. The interior is just as nice. Very good sized rooms. The hotel is very clean throughout, and being constantly cleaned. The swimming pools are very clean, and clearly marked showing the depths of the pool. The rooms are of a high quality and very comfortable. The greatest asset of the hotel are the staff. They are all very friendly, polite and respectful. I especially have to say that Shruthi at reception and Vishnu in the restaurant provided fantastic customer service.

I liked everything. A recommendation would be that maybe a lift/elevator may help.

The Gateway Varkala was a very nice place to stay. Everything in the hotel, from the staff, service, and location was top notch. The grounds are large and kept impeccable with a nice swimming pool. The breakfast was very varied and enjoyable, and the staff at breakfast were very accommodating with any requests. My wife scheduled a massage in the spa, and she said it was amazing. Thank you Gateway Varkala!

This was our fourth stay at the hotel, we come back each year because it’s friendly and relaxed and good proximity to Varkala beaches and cliff restaurants. Everything is clean and comfortable .The pool is lovely and clean and breakfast buffet is good too.

The restaurant isn’t the best, the food is ok but restaurants on the nearby cliff tend to offer better quality and value for money.

I think the location is the strongest plus for this hotel. If there is only one thing that you have to choose, I'll choose the view from its main entry. One of the best looking views that you can witness. The hotel was small but comfortable. Every room had a great view. The reception lobby had a view of the entire property (greenery & swimming pool). Right outside the property was a small green belt area (to give you the feeling that you are traveling through a jungle) and beyond that was the view of the sea. All of that was visible from the hotel lobby. Rooms were decent sized and clean. Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. Food was delicious. Outside location was peaceful. Overall a good value for money stay.

Not too many options for activities except for a swimming pool and few tables (game) at the lobby area. Even though the sea had a beautiful look and all, it was not conducive for beach fun. People were doing different types of rituals there. Everything else was great.

The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for you. They really made the stay so pleasant. The location is as good as it gets and the grounds are spectacular.

The tiles in the room were a bit tired as was the grouting in the bathroom. The rooms could do with a revamp.

I loved the staff,their services, facilities and food. A special shout out to Gokul,Abhirami,Shebeenfor taking care of us at the restaurant. Nijisha and Aswathy for welcoming as making the checkin and checkout so simple and easy. Sudeep and Reji who welcomed with warm smiles and took care of so well
