This is a beautiful property located in a very tranquil setting. Check-in was easy and our cabin easy to find. Everything was neat and tidy and move-in ready. They truly have thought of everything so you do not have to leave. However, I suggest a rental car if you like having the freedom to come and go like us. The car came in handy to get groceries in town so we could cook at least one meal a day for ourselves. We also ventured to other parts of the area after our stay. I would stay here again.

I would suggest providing robes and/or slippers since there is a sauna in the cabin. It would be nice to have since there is only one bath towel provided for each person during your stay.

Ranua is a good place to be away from the Rovaniemi city buzz and experience the quietness. Staff was friendly and helped us book or SnowMobile tour and also answered all our touristy questions. The zoo is fantastic and a must visit for family. Rooms: FoxB : Very cozy place with a good kitchen and Sauna. The beds were comfortable. But all rooms have single beds which you can join and use as a double. Kitchen : The kitchen has everything you need. Just pop to the closest grocery store. We love the hike, So we walked to the nearest one. its about 25-30mins walk one way, or the reception will give you a ride as well. Fireplace: We used it once during our stay and it really helps to bring a ncie vibe to the place Sauna : Nice and easy to use and will keep you nice and warm The restaurant serves good breakfast. There are 2-3 different restaurants, where im sure you can get food during your stay. ** We arrived at 1900ish, which was the same time as the restaurant closes as well. Yuha from reception gave a headsup to the chef and they were super sweet to wait for us and make the last meal. We dont eat lot of meat, So the chef made a delicous chicken burger and we were set**

I think they need to add a new repeater. The internet signal is low and intermittent

Beautiful location in Lapland with modern style decor. The log burner is large and very efficient whilst having a great look. The bed was very comfortable and the sauna was a lovely touch for the property

I cook a lot and the kitchen utensils and cookware were basic. Not many pans, oven dishes etc to cook with for a family and the knives were blunt. This is not a complaint, but for people looking to cook for a family, there isn’t much to work with.

The house is very nice, and has everything you need. The beds are very good, and the furniture is very nice. In the kitchen you have everything you need, including detergent for the dishwasher, which is very good. You need nothing to buy. The sauna was perfect when comimg back from outside with minus 18 degrees :-) There is also a stove for wood that produces a pleasant warmth.

The only thing which was not so good, we stayed 3 nights, and there was only fire wood for one night. The additional firewood for the 2 other nights, we had to pay for :-(

Breakfast was a nice mix of basics and a few local options. Nothing fancy but plenty of great food to start off a day in a winter wonderland. could have done with a bit of variety, but not really complaining. The rooms (family cabin) was amazing, loved having our own sauna (and diving into the snow afterwards!). They even had a toboggan mound set up a few meters from our door, which provided hours of entertainment. Its great having direct access to the tours (reindeer sleigh rides, husky sled, ice fishing, snowmbiles...).

Breakfast could have done with a little variety, but really this is a minor quibble. Dinner options are a bit limited and pricey in the restaurant, but if this is a concern some pre-made soups and garlic bread in your own fully equipped kitchen in the cabin is a great fallback.

Excellent location, fantastic views, zoo, comfortable house with sauna and a lot of winter fun!

Our cottage was not soundproof at all. Internet quality in the cottage was very poor. We are a bit disappointed by the staff. It's not our first stay, and they were always really perfect. This time nothing a bit extra was not possible. Also we received contradictory answers to the same questions. We hope so much that it happened because of the holidays period, and next time will be better

The breakfast is very good, and there is a choice of different type of food. Houses are very cosy and clean, there are two bathrooms. The house is super comfortable for four people. Additional persons would sleep in the attic which has less space and less privacy. In the stairs (upstairs and downstairs) protection gates for children. Kitchen very well equipped. Linen is new and of good quality. Comfortable beds. There is a small pharmacy in the reception :) Guests can visit the polar ZOO every day at the same ticket :)

We are a family of 6 and we stayed 30/12-3/1. Beautiful location. Lovely, warm lodge. Plenty of room for 6 of us. A drying room. A sauna. A wood burner. 2 bathrooms. Breakfast was ok. The activities were amazing. The trip was a surprise Christmas present to our children and it surpassed expectations. We went on the guided trip by Finnhorse searching for the Northern lights. We went for Husky rides and reindeer rides. We also went on a tour to Honkivaara where we sled down a huge hill numerous times and our lovely guide made a fire and hot drinks. The zoo is right there too and wonderful. *Worth noting is that you can get the bus (comfortable coach) right there instead of an expensive transfer. It goes from the bus station in Rovaniemi, stops in Rovaniemi centre and pulls into the Holliday Village for a fraction of the price. We booked in advance (and back again) all very easy and smooth. We stayed one night in Rovaniemi and it left from opposite our hotel.

Just make sure you take plenty of tea/coffee anything you want to eat or drink. There aren’t any sachets you may get in a hotel or b&b. The supermarket prices are unreal too. We were given 4 toilet rolls between 6 of us for 4 days.

Well equipped and decorated to a high standard. Everything was comfortable

We were not able to use the tv as the screen mirroring wasn’t working but it wasn’t bad for us as we could just read or use our iPad.

We wanted to visit Ranua wildlife park to see Finnish animals and found it very easy to book an overnight stay in Villa Gulo Gulo. This included a free buffet breakfast as well as access to the wildlife park for 2 consecutive days for the price of one. We went on the afternoon on day of arrival and again the next morning, and saw all the animals over the two days. We stayed in Ahma which was perfect for a family of 5, and had excellent facilities, including a nice sauna, wood-fired heater and particularly nice lighting. We also booked an experience via Villa Gulo Gulo and went on an Aurora hunt by snowmobile at night. The warm clothing provided is a must as the temperatures are well below freezing and the wind chill factor is significant. Our Spanish tour guide was friendly and informative and we enjoyed hot Glögi and toasted marshmallows by a fire in the wilderness. Seeing the snow-laden trees at night was a special experience and this tour exceeded our expectations, even though we did not see the Aurora on the tour (due to cloudy weather). We would highly recommend staying at Villa Gulo Gulo with a family.

Everything was great!
