The beds were very comfortable. The pool and sauna were great. The building itself is a bit outdated, we didn't mind this so much as it added to the character of the place. The staff was great very helpful and friendly.

Restaurant prices were steep for all that it was. No breakfast included in stay and on kids menu 1 slice of bacon was $3.00. Bagels were over done. Wasn't overly impressed with the dining experience. The building is outdated so, the elevator broke the day we arrived. Luckily staff was great with moving us from the fourth floor to the second. Also the main doors are open, anyone can wander in at anytime, I was not a fan of that. They should have mag locks on the doors to access the building as well as the pool, to get into the pool room you have to buzz the front desk.

Best location when departing or arriving from Yarmouth- Bar Harbor Ferry. They have a moderately priced restaurant on the premises, although a few better restaurants are in the area. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, comfortable and had everything needed.

Unfortunately, the Canadian meat pie (tourtiere) that I tried in the restaurant was awful. The rest of the food was okay and it was convenient to be able to eat at the hotel after a long drive.

The room had new flooring. The staff were attentive.

I ordered an upgraded room with 2 queen beds. Got a room with 2 double beds that were old and sunken. I definitely didn't get the upgrade I paid for. The restaurant was shorthanded and it took an hour to get our food. Others around us complained and got offered discounts. We didn't complain, so they ignored us despite waiting just as long as the complainers. Not impressed. I would not stay here again.

Staff was nice and friendly from the time I arrived and time I checked out. Love the new renovations.. I highly recommend people stay at Rodd Grand Hotel

That my toast wasn't toasted that was with my breakfast and a clubhouse sandwich I had for supper the bread was not toasted well and was soggy. Guess I should of brought it to the waitress attention at that time.

Room was clean and tidy , beds were large and very comfortable, lots of towels & toiletries , large fridge . Housekeeping staff were very friendly.

Well the sink in bathroom was fancy but not very functional ,the unit sink sat on was so large & close to toilet it was very uncomfortable to use the toilet . The person who designed layout need to have a good rethink & try themselves .

Staff was nice and friendly from time I checked in til I checked out. Like that hotel is close to everything downtown . Love the renovations. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Would have liked a microwave in the room: a nuisance if you have to go to front desk. Also, overhead lighting in the bedroom-task lighting didn't give enough light for doing hair, etc when sharing the bathroom with others and you need to do your hair while they showered.

Awesome breakfast. Access to parking from rooms. Pool a nice bonus.

People smoking outside rooms tho there is a designated area - needs monitoring so non- smokers are not subjected to smoke coming into their room. The dishes under beds need changing more often so those sensitive to smells do not have to search for and remove.

our beds were the most comfortable we have ever had at any hotel. Our room window actually opened a few inches which was nice. Bathroom was small but efficient and shower pressure very good. Enjoyed the coffee/tea maker.

The front entrance could have been more clearly marked as Main Hotel Entrance. WE had to drive around the block and enter through the back.

Very comfortable and clean room. Beds, pillows, linens super comfortable!! Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent restaurant on premises.

Need more parking! If you get there after 6pm, it's a toss up if you'll get a space. So if you take the CAT ferry, get your car on first so you can be first off to check in.
