The location of this hotel is fabulous, the pool areas and outdoor lounging areas are superb.

The hotel is an older one. There are no dressers for your clothing and very minimal closet space. There is a small shelving unit in the closet for some clothing but not enough toom for 2 people’s. Our Keurig did not work, and had to request a new one which didn’t work right. There is not a snack store in the hotel either nor coffee in the lobby.

It was a wonderful location, close to quiet beaches. We even saw a turtle! The towel service was great. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. The cleaning staff were amazing. The restaurant was well located and the children’s menu was good. The pool was nice and clean. It was great to sit and chat by the pool with a drink or something to eat. Big comfortable beds. There are shady rest areas that lend themselves to relaxing. The ambience was relaxing and enjoyable. The lei making workshop was a must do! Cathy is great! Very family friendly!

Some restaurant service could be improved. There were several amazing servers.

I liked the location of the hotel and the adult pool, I like the welcome crew. I like the modernist of the lobby and rooms. I stayed in a Jr Suite and it was very spacious and loved the microwave and fridge in there

I didn’t like that my room was right next to the elevator, made it very loud and late nights and early mornings. I didn’t like that there was not valet parking.

The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient. Having an adult only pool area was fabulous. We appreciate the kiddies but sometimes it’s nice to relax with a little quiet. The proximity to shopping and restaurants was enjoyable and gave us many options. Being able to walk down to the beach in a few minutes was handy for those evening sunsets. We would stay again in a heartbeat

Would recommend furniture on the deck to be a little more comfortable. I know not everyone spends much time in the room but we did enjoy our morning coffee and an evening cocktail on our deck

The room is very big with nice decor. Employees were nice. The parking was very convenient and you can go in and out anytime with your card. Location was good: restaurants and abc store nearby. The pool was a great place to spend some time with good music. It’s near the airport. The beach is at a walking distance and looks wonderful. Worth pay a bit more for partial ocean view, amazing view really.

The water was expired but they still have a water filling station with fresh water in the lobby

The staff...from the bell hop,frontdesk,concierge, housekeeping - they are all 100% in service to...love,love them all - from my family - we thank you for making our family vacation really memorable..!!

The hotel facilities needs real upgrading - pool area needs some sprucing - we stayed for 8 nights and good thing we were busy with so much activities outside the hotel so we really used it for sleeping but then we had a day just chilling out - it would have been great if Modern Honolulu can provide extra amenities like entertainment night live band or breakfast or dinner buffet or souvenir shop inside the hotel or your own store - similar to ABC..

I enjoyed my room, the bed was super comfortable! the layout of the room and the esthetic was modern and comfortable. Nice pool, there is a walkway behind the pool that leads you to the lagoon and beach .. about a 5 min walk

I stayed there for 4 nights and the only time house keeping came was to ask what time I was leaving. I was told I would get a call when my room was ready, no one called me. When I took initiative to call myself then told me that my room was available for the last hour. I wish I would of knew that instead of waiting around in my airport clothes.

I stayed here 12 years ago, and was just as fab. The location is a little more chilled than the other end of Waikīkī. Within walking distance of Alo Moana shopping centre and a number of restaurants and a supermarket. There are two bus stops right outside, perfect to get to either the airport or the other end of Waikiki. Also within walking distance of the beach.

My only issue was the pool beds, very uncomfortable and not like the lovely cushioned ones that was there 12 years ago. Also there were far too many noisy children in the pool throwing balls, a shame for a boutique hotel.

The size of the suite and two balconies were perfect for us. Proximity to the beach and shopping centre. The view over the marina. The Hilton Hawaiian Friday fireworks display was superb from our balcony.

In a suite with a microwave, I would have expected plates, glassware and cutlery. The pool bar and wait staff weren't very attentive or friendly. A bar in the adults-only space would have been convenient especially since the infrastructure is already there.
