Wonderful location and surrounded by forestry. A short drive into town with a good variety of shops, cafes and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was some of the best we've had in France. The restaurant isn't open on Mondays so we ate in town on our second night. Lovely swimming pool although a bit too warm for such hot weather. The only improvement would be to have air conditioning which we thought it had but it's not in all room types.

The location was excellent, not far from Bagnoles. The room was lovely and large with a good-sized balcony and views across the countryside. The bathroom was very well-appointed. The breakfast was very good with plenty of the items prepared in house. We enjoyed eating in the restaurant.

We were surprised that the bar was not open when we arrived at about 1.45pm. It would have been nice to be able to have a glass of wine while we were waiting to be able to access our room (we were early and were able to access it before the check-in time which was good). We did have tea though.

We had a lovely woodland room which was very large and the bathroom was amazing . The bed was comfortable and the views from the room are across the fields and it was very peaceful. The staff are friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu on our first evening. The location is close to the village of Bagnoles de L'Lorne which is well worth a visit.

We would have liked more comfortable chairs on the balcony or even loungers as there is plenty of room. It is a lovely place to relax and it was warm and sunny during our stay so it would have been nice to spend some time on the balcony. Otherwise everything was lovely.

We had one of the wooden lodges and loved it! Our experience at this property was good - quiet and relaxing with a pretty hotel garden and pleasant, smiling and helpful staff.

We arrived on a Monday and we knew the restaurant would be closed in advance so this wasn’t a surprise. The bar was also closed. It would be good if perhaps a simple cheese platter and glass of wine was available for weary travellers who do not want to venture into Bagnoles after their long journey.

The property and room were very good. The food was excellent mind you mushrooms played a big part on the menu. The whole evening experience was a delight from start to finish one of the main reasons we booked we could not fault this and the older family were charming.

The welcome to the property was very very poor if we had not travelled all day we would have turned around and stayed somewhere else. The reception on arrival was very unwelcoming, manners cost nothing, arrogance is appalling presumably the two on the desk were family. The staff situation was saved by the delightful girl on the reservation desk the following day and the breakfast staff. We will not return but it was made obvious at the start it didn’t matter anyway!

We couldn't be guaranteed a twin room in the house, although we could book one on booking.com. We ended up paying more, although the room was lovely. The pillows were dreadful, I asked for extra and they were basically dead!

The hotel room, the facilities, staff were very helpful and friendly. Dinner was delicious.

The swimming pool indoors was mouldy and a little tired. Redecoration would be good. Handrails to walk down the stairs from the swimming pool would be a good idea. Very slippery. The breakfast didn't meet the same standard as the rest of the facilities. Some hot food or option for cooked breakfast might be good.

Restaurant closed Monday. No restaurants open in bagnol! In the end we found a shop selling pastries. Came back to the hotel. The charming young waiter and the receptionist took pity on us and gave us a plate of cheese which was very kind and thoughtful.

The Manoir was full of character and well presented. The room contained everything I could wish for apart from an iron but I’m guessing that could be obtained from reception. Even had a nice coffee machine.

Nothing.

The hotel is in the heart of a forest which makes it restful and gorgeous. The staff gave us the warmest welcome I ever received in France. The food was perfect : great gastronomical experience at night and the best breakfast in 4 stars hotel in a long time.
