Gilles and James have created a charming tasteful oasis in the tiny hamlet of Bois -Sainte -Marie. The village has a beautiful historic church, is very quiet so a car is vital to explore the rolling countryside. We had plenty of valuable advice on restaurants and places of interest, more than we could cover in our few days. Gilles and James provided us with a supper in the garden on our first night, no simple cheese plate, but a beautifully laid out feast of salad cheeses and meats, with a warm berry crumble to follow. Their breakfasts are just as special. They are both such charming thoughtful hosts. Do stay here it’s just superb!

James and Gilles are wonderful hosts, and their Maison d’hôtes reflects their impeccable taste. Every detail of the house and interiors is thoughtful and full of charm, making it a very special place to stay. Breakfast was superb: fresh, generous, and beautifully presented. We felt warmly welcomed throughout and truly enjoyed our time at Les Tillets.

Nothing to complain about

Maison d’hôtes les Tillets is the perfect place to stay and we loved everything about it. Our hosts James and Gilles were so friendly and helpful and made us feel so at home in their gorgeous, beautifully furnished home replete with lush garden and perfect pool. It was our favourite stay in all of France and we can’t recommend it highly enough. Merci beaucoup James and Gilles! We look forward to returning again soon.

It was perfect - we loved everything.

When we searched for accomodation and saw that Les Tillets had a 10 out of 10 we were suspicious. However, it quickly became clear to us that it is possible to be a 10. James and Giles delighted us with their hospitality and attention to detail, welcoming us into their beautifully designed home and astonishing garden. The typical French breakfast with local products they provided was the cherry on the sundae! Can we please come back?!

feels like a little slice of paradise in the middle of france. Beautifully decorated rooms and just the coziest atmosphere. The owners are the most lovely people that will prepare dinner and breakfast themselves! If you are looking for an unique, dreamy stay in a calm atmosphere it’s definitely all of that and more

James and Gilles are exceptional hosts and it’s always a pleasure to visit their Maison d’hôtes. It has been our third time at their lovely house with its lush garden and cozy decorated rooms. The interior of the house is curated to every detail. The amazing breakfast and the always warm welcome makes it a perfect stay. And surely we will be back.

This house is a gem, a rare find, restored and decorated most beautifully. The garden with box hedges and mature trees add to the charm and the delightful owners, James and Giles make a stay at les Tillets such a joy.

Les Tillets is an utterly charming place to stay in a very pretty French village perched on a hill. We stayed in the cottage next to the main house, with our three teenage children. The cottage has been beautifully renovated and decorated and every detail thought through by Gilles and James the hosts. It has a generous sized kitchen with a big table and a comfortable sitting room. The garden is lovely and has a small (but long!) pool which we really enjoyed as it was very hot when we were there. Gilles and James were extremely helpful with local knowledge and anything else needed.

Amazing house with a separate 3 floor dependance available for guests. When you pass through the doorway you are diving on another dimension. Gilles&James have a incredible care for details: furnitures, decors, bathroom and bed linen are on a high quality level. Fresh flowers were on the bedroom and on the livingroom side table when we arrived. The garden with swimming pool is relaxing and so nice looking. Good breakfast served on the main house when we had the best espresso of our vacation in France.
