Cyril, the owner, could not have been more helpful. When our travels were changed by a strike, he was able to move around our booking and made things as easy as possible. The stress-reduction was extremely helpful. There were many useful pamphlets and travel details left for us to work out what we were doing. The kitchen (we had the unit upstairs for most of our trip) was well-catered for and easy to use. I know France is full of ancient buildings - this was incredible. Mindblowing to this Australian. The breakfasts were delicious. That local bakery is dangerous for the waistline.

The chambre d'hôte is located in a very old building that has been sensitively converted. Room was quite spacious and bathroom was very nice with a good shower. The breakfast was excellent - a little of everything - jambon cru, cheese, fruit, cereal, bread/pastries. Cyril gave me all the information I needed to find everything and helped me choose a place to eat in the town. There was an information sheet in the room re things to do in Gaillac - the Musee d'art is excellent. Overall - Highly recommended!

Not a problem for me - but the room would not be easy to access for someone of reduced mobility.

A very interesting old building which had been a Hostellerie since the 14th century, lovingly restored. We slept in a room once slept in by Francis 1st. Excellent breakfast. We didn't get the chance to meet Cyril but his communication by WhatsApp was excellent. Be aware that the access to the property is via a pedestrian only route involving a lot of steps.

The listing is misleading as it says "all units have a seating area with a sofa, a dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen with various cooking facilities, including a dishwasher, an oven, a stovetop and kitchenware". I'm not sure of the exact arrangements but I guess this referred to the dining /kitchen area where we had breakfast which was separate from our bedroom/bathroom/toilet unit and may have been available to all quests to use of a shared basis.

Our stay was made really nice by our host, Cyril, his knowledgable welcome made our short stay really special. This historic gem was opened up by the information supplied. We took advice on places to eat and bars to visit which proved to be memorable. The historic sights we visited were amazing and our short stay will definitely be followed up by further visits to this great town. To top it off we were served an amazing breakfast which is served in the excellent, cozy dining room. First rate stay. Don't be put off by the public parking aspect, we parked in the quay and it was literally 50 metres away from the room.

we loved every aspect of our stay

Cute, quaint little old house that has been renovated with great care. In a quiet neighborhood but very central. Pleasant outdoor area to relax. If you’re looking for a business hotel experience (as the woman in the room next to us was) this is not that! It is full of character and charm.

Excellent location close to the river. Cyril is a very kind host, helpful with recommendations. On departure we were allowed to leave our luggage until the afternoon. Incredible apartment in a historical house, very original outfit. Phantastic breakfest including fresh croissants from the baker's shop.

Nothing to criticize.

An amazing stay with so much history. Location was perfect. Host gave fantastic directions from the parking area to find the room and we felt completely at ease walking around the area. Wish we had stayed another day.

It was perfect. No complaints other than not staying another day.

beautiful house, my room had a glimpsed view of the river Tarn. really charming and helpful host; Cyril really went out of his way to be helpful. nice breakfast. comfortable bed, everything was very clean.

nothing, I liked everything. if you really twisted my arm and asked me to say something, I would say the water could have been a tiny bit warmer.

This Chambre d'Hote is in an ancient building in a pedestrian area near the river. It is a really special stay, full of character features. The breakfast (included in the price) was delicious, fresh juice, fruit, pastries, a loaf of bread, ham, cheese and lovely tea and coffee. The host gave us lots of information, then left us to do our own thing. Highly recommended. Gaillac is one of the loveliest villages we visited in France.

Nothing.

Such a lovely old building full of character. The breakfast was exceptional and host really friendly. My dog and I slept so well and I’d definitely return.

Musky smell took a bit of getting used to but what you would expect of old buildings
