This was our second visit to the Chateau and it was good to meet Serge and Sara again. Serge is an accomplished cook and the evening meal was simply superb and enjoyed around a large table in the company of several other guests. The meal and the convivial atmosphere more than made up for any minor deficiencies that are almost inevitable in an old building.

As mentioned above, any minor deficiencies were completely forgiven in the afterglow of that gorgeous meal and lovely company.

The hosts Sarah and Serge are fabulous lovely people. The food was delicious and all cooked fresh with produce from their garden. Very good value dinner and I would highly recommend people stay for the meal. The Chateau is in a very quiet village with not much around but ideal for some peace and tranquility. We would definitely stay again if we were going that way.

Would like to have seen some outside seats to enjoy the peace and quiet of the garden.

Serge & Sara were so welcoming. Chateau Lezat had been recommended by my family, and it did not disappoint. We had a wonderful stay. Serge is passionate about cooking, and it shows! Wonderful food. Sara and Serge could not have made our stay anymore enjoyable. We would highly recommend staying here.

The welcome was warm and friendly despite my very late arrival. The setting of the house is beautiful — the giant tree outside my window, the birdsong, the tranquility of the lovely countryside all added to make it a most memorable stay.

A recommendation is to make sure that the location of the hotel is more clearly given — my gos could not pick up the address and consequently I got completely lost for almost an hour. The owner did try to direct me when I called but it still wasn’t clear that the hotel is not in the village of La Souterraine but in a location kilometres away from it.

The house has been beautifully restored, and is very comfortable and quiet. The owners are marvelous hosts who did the restoration, know the history of the house and its original owners, as well as the subsequent owners. They also prepare all the meals, and they are wonderful. We would go back for another stay in a heartbeat.

Not a thing!

What a little gem of the hotel we found! Visiting friends in a rural area this was 15 mins drive from them so ideal for us. It was lovely and quiet. The hosts were wonderful, very attentive and even had a delicious dinner ready for us when we arrived later than expected. Breakfast was included in the very reasonable price and there was a good choice of cold and hot selections.

Excellent dinner, table d'hote-style so no options but fresh ingredients cooked with love and care, with complementary canapes/apero and a decent wine list for all pockets. Continental breakfast was also very good. An old house with lots of charm and even more charming hosts. The place is perfectly set up for adults though our two teenage sons enjoyed it immensely. We stayed in the top-floor family suite (two connecting bedrooms and bathroom all accessed via one door). Well soundproofed for a 120-year old building. Quiet village setting just a few minutes' drive from A20 junction.

Still undergoing renovations but this didn't affect our stay except that our balcony was not usable. Some idiosyncrasies (like the bed footboard that partly blocked the view to the TV), but exactly the sort of thing you expect when not opting for a chain hotel.

Our stay comprised of a single night Dinner B&B on our way South to the Med, its in a great position if travelling from North to South for a refreshing stopover. This is the perfect archetypal French establishment to sample the most wonderful hospitality provided by the hosts Serge and his lovely wife. The Chateau is a delightful building and the 'Marie Antionette' suite a wonderfully comfortable room. Serge's 4 course meal was simply delicious, if we never have the opportunity to return then we will never forget our stay here, if we do return, I hope, a longer stay will be in order to further enjoy and explore the wonderful surrounding country side and the charm of the hosts.

Its not broke !

We felt like valued guests in a family house - Serge and Sarah made us feel really welcome. The house is amazing and its history fascinating. Dinner was great with Serge making a special effort to cater for our dietary requirements.

Serge and Sarah are very nice hosts; comfortable room; excellent breakfast; quiet and restful location; the chateau is charmingly and painstakingly restored and decorated; would certainly stay here again.
