Located in a quiet, small village in the French countryside. Not far from the N10 highway, so conveniently located in our route to the south. Finding a bottle of cold water in the room was excellent, given that we arrived on a very hot day. The owners were friendly, English speaking. Everything is very clean.

Breakfast was nothing special. There is a house dog, I am not really a fan of dogs. There was an extra door in our bathroom, leading to somewhere else other than our room.

Absolutely lovely owner. Her husband is also a great guy. I need something to have a night stop on my way from Spain to Germany. A few minutes from the Nationale. Was with my dog. Nothing. It was everything I needed for a night stop with a dog.

Very useful location. Very quiet village less than 5 minutes from N10. Arrived 17:15 on a Monday night - so no local restaurants open. But Elaine immediately offered an evening meal - great soup; quiche and salad; cheese which was absolutely perfect. We were most grateful.

What was not to like?

Due to a misunderstanding between my wife and I, we arrived at La Vieille Distilerie one day earlier than booked. Elaine and Hugh were fantastic: luckily they still had one room free, so they accepted us with no problem! Their friendly dog also received us with great hospitality. The whole house is tastefully decorated, the room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. During breakfast (excellent) we still had a pleasant conversation, in English and French, with Elaine and another couple of guests. It was with regret that we had to continue our journey.

The host was British and very nice. We arrived quite late (9 pm) and he still proposed to make us a small meal upon arrival. He charged us a very reasonable amount for this meal. The environment is very peaceful, quiet and green. We were just passing through but will definitely think of this place if we come to this area again.

Lovely old restored french house. Beds extremely comfortable and furnishings in keeping with the house. Nice touch offering us an evening meal as we got there quite late. Soup especially was very tasty. The hosts were very friendly and seemed genuinely interested in you as a person.

Friendly people. Lovely old restored house. With original doors and windows. Very clean room and bathroom. Good bed. Very quiet. It was great for us hungry cyclist that we could have dinner here. Also breakfast was good. We could park our bicycles safely in a barn. It is almost on the Eurovelo route.

Location - lovely village with great area for walking dog. Very welcoming & friendly hosts, pot of tea upon arrival. Nice breakfast.

Weather was awful, but we hope to return in the spring & see the area in better conditions.

It was spotlessly clean and very quaint in a lovely French hamlet the rooms were very nice and the host Elaine very easy to get on with We will be returning hopefully 🤞

We did struggle a bit with directions from our sat nav and had to ring the property up for directions

Elaine & Hugh were fantastic. We are traveling by bicycle and had a great dinner which is always welcome after a days riding. We also got a lot of play time with Meg the dog. We had some problems with our travel plans come up while at La Vieille Distillerie and Elaine went well above and beyond to help us sort out our problems.
