The area is gorgeous, with natural reserves, long empty (stone or sand) beaches, seadogs, cliffs, forests, hiking paths... We liked also visiting villages like Mers-les-Bains, Saint-Valery-sur-Somme et Le Tréport. In Cayeux-sur-Mer there's a really good bakery, nice closed market (3 days/ week) and bars (L'Embuscade near the market, and two at the beach). Madame Vacances was perfect to visit all this. Really friendly staff and nice well-equipped tiny apartment at the beach front. We couldn't make use of the swimming pool (because under renovations most week), but in any case it's tiny and best for children. We asked for the WiFi code for the rooms because the free WiFi at the lounge didn't connect well and this was perfect for us (as we had to work a bit during the week).

Madame Vacances is located at the beach front, but with a street in between the residence and sea, thus in the early morning it can be noisy (as we slept with open windows to hear the sea and there were works during our stay). Information in the description on Booking may be updated with relevant practical information or at least with a clear note to read properly the policies (in particular for extra payment for WiFi and sheets/ towels, parking info and opening and size of swimming pool).

A pet friendly place, ideal to stay with our dog, beautiful location with a view to the sea. A small apartment, very cosy. Within walking distance to supermarket, vet and restaurants.

A large water heater in our bedroom wardrobe made a lot of dripping and splashing noises. I had to wear earplugs at night. Also, we paid 15€ for 7 days of WiFi access, except we could hardly ever use it, such a poor connection, if at all there was one. We ended up using our smartphone network.

The housing responded to our expectations, this is the first time we come and we were pleasantly surprised. The bedding is good, even the sofa bed, the apartment is well soundproofed.

great location, clean, would be great for a week

it is a most unsuitable property to stay one night- intermittent reception opening times , check in from 5pm, no linen without extra charge, had to sign a damage deposit and clean deposit, had to make and strip our own beds and clean the apartment on leaving. disappointed that it came up as an option on booking.com for a single night stay. should be much clearer.

The price and helpful, knowledgeable staff.

The lack of free parking, constantly wet floor from the pool in reception, lift, and the lift lobby. The room was dusty.

The location and the view.

The reception staff is not helpful or organized. Suddenly, a linnen charge was added to our booking on the day before departure, while we didn't ask for anything. All doors in our apartment were broken in some way, meaning they didn't stay closed or closed by themselves, depending on the case. The front door has a normal handle on the side of the corridor, resulting in a total stranger being able to enter our apartment. No ventilation in the bathroom, so it was super damp. The lights in the room don't have lampshades anymore and are way too bright. The picture of the gym is taken so that it suggests a bigger space, but it's minuscule and the 3 machines it has are outdated. Kids (I think the manager's?) are using it as a playground. Also, the gym is only open during the reception's opening hours, which is never.

The location and view were great.

We arrived on a Wednesday and there is no staff working. We weren't sent instructions about how to access anything so we called the emergency number and no one replied even after leaving a message We then rang the hotel chain main number and received instructions on accessing our key. The rooms are clean but you have to clean everything before you leave! You have to pay to use towels, bed linnen etc so it felt like you couldnt use anything.

Employees were very friendly

small , the place for the kids had no windows. No good ventilation for toilet. Bathroom floor was really in bad shape.

The Wi-Fi was terrible, I prefer double bed than twin bed. No cleaning was done during our stay however extra charge for cleaning. Charged for bedding and car park. The single room was stinky.
