The "chalet" was basically like a roomy camping trailer. Comfy living room with air conditioning (a rarity in France, and much appreciated in the very hot May weather)! Fully-stocked kitchenette, which I knew about but didn't take advantage of, other than to use a plate, utensils and table. Additional table and lounge chairs on outdoor deck. Property in the woods and very "birdy", which was an unexpected and very pleasant surprise, as I was in Corsica at the end of a birding trip to France. Very peaceful, and good location near the charming town of Sartene and not far from the prehistoric carved standing stones ("alignements") of Cauria. The host was quite friendly when I was checking out. He told me how he'd built the place by himself, and was justifiably proud of the results of his hard work. We discussed our mutual interest in history, some of the historic monuments in Corsica, and various countries we'd visited. He was visibly moved that I knew about the 18th Century Corsican national hero, Pascal Paoli. Since I was driving an electric car (not my choice, and I advise never to do that on Corsica), my host gave me directions to the nearest charging station. I missed the turnoff and called him, and he was happy to direct me back, even sending a text later to make sure I'd gotten there. Highly recommend.

I was rather intimidated by the host when I arrived, because I said I'd be arriving late but didn't, and he seemed a little impatient with me. From my communications with him at the time of booking and the key transfer, I knew he'd be inspecting the place before I left, so I went overboard in tidying up. He basically gave the living room/kitchenette a glance and that was it. Then he started talking to me and was quite friendly (see above). We had a long, interesting conversation that I was rather sad to have to break off.

Great place to relax far from the cities. It is very clean and quiet. The staff is great.

A swimming pool would have been a plus, but not a big deal.

The lodge is in very calm place, in the forest and has everything you need for comfortable stay. It is good location for exploring nearby region, excellent beaches are just nearby.

The location is good. Plenty of trees and natural resources. Family love the location.

Pure nature!

The manager (owner?) was really very unpleasant. His rude, overly arrogant and unwilling behavior made our stay very unpleasant. We should have believed the reviews. He runs accomodation and hates foreigners and maybe all people in general. We traveled around Corsica for 14 days, thank god the other days and the people we met were nice and we enjoyed our stay.

Peacefull environment.

High humidity and very stale air in the lodge, lots of spiders and mosquitoes, bad gravel road full of holes to the place (doable with normal car, but still should be repaired), messy surroundings, feeling that the owner just want to make some more money without any investment (overall badly maintained), in the middle of nowhere in the forest.
