The place has a wonderful relaxed vibe and the owners are lovely and very patient with my terrible French. The location is lovely if you want a quiet retreat, and there are great beaches nearby, but you will need a car to reach them.

Lovely property with gorgeous bougainvillea in front. After an extremely hot and trying day, it was great to be able to cool off in "heated" (by the sun) pool. Katia and Jean-Luc were exceptional hosts. I'd asked for the "table d'hote" (in-house dining, which included local wine), and they thoughtfully provided the dinner outdoors, with separate, socially-distanced tables for each party. Jean-Luc was a very sure-footed and attentive server. They had a full house (I think 8 guests), with shared bathrooms, but plenty of them. Most importantly of all, my hosts and 2 of their guests provided an invaluable service to me, for which I will be forever grateful. When I'd rented a car 5 days earlier, I got stuck with an electric vehicle (which I hadn't requested) that guzzled power at a truly alarming rate. Charging stations on Corsica are few and far between, with horribly long waits in line to charge your car and then while it's charging; then the electricity per kilometer use was such that I couldn't use the a/c (in weather averaging between 85-95 degrees and tropical humidity) and was always afraid of being stranded in the middle of nowhere. The day I arrived at Macchia Verdata was the last straw for me with this car. Katia immediately sprang into action by calling Hertz at the nearest airport (about 20 km. away) and giving them a piece of her mind about how I was "stranded" with the car (it made a better story) and needed to exchange it for a gas-fueled car. She also got (to my embarrassment but certainly gratitude) some of the guests involved, to the extent that a lovely couple, Corinne and Gerard, accompanied me to the Hertz office at the airport the next day, explained the situation (Corinne spoke English) and were able to get me an automatic, non-electric car. These wonderful folks didn't leave until they were sure everything was in order.

We had a calm stay and the local dinner we had at the bed&breakfast was exceptional. We enjoyed the pool and the very nice surrounding.

Communication at first was not very clear, also more information for parking beforehand would have been helpful.

Noise can be hear in the room from all other areas, very simply breakfast, can smell cigarettes inside house area, pool area would need more clean care

3 shared bathrooms are for all rooms, which was not clear in the description. I paid 5€ more for ‘the garden view’ room, while it didn’t mention shared bathroom there. Disappointing, especially since one bathroom was next to our room and it was used often at night. Bed is quite narrow, so not very comfortable. Breakfast pretty disappointing as well. coffee, orange juice, croissant, butter & jam. No other choice whatsoever. Bread was not fresh as it was already set on the table the night before.
