Charming, immaculate hotel right in the heart of medieval Samur-en-Auxois. There is a relaxing bar area. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. A good choice at breakfast, and excellent wifi reception. There were plenty of electrical sockets.

We had a very strange wardrobe with a door across the hanging area which could not be moved, making access difficult. I prefer to have a safe in the room, but I was assured that I needn't worry about security. We walked past a flower shop at 8am, before it was open, and all the pots had stood outside overnight. Clearly the owner was not worried about theft. It would seem that Semur is a safe place. A pot by my front door would risk being stolen in the UK!

Comfortable room. Brilliant location in the centre of a charming mediaeval town. Great for an overnight stay on route to/from the south.

It's a pity it doesn't have a restaurant, given the location in the heart of France's best region for food and wine. Still the staff helpfully guided us to a nearby street with a couple of excellent eateries.

Doors locked when we arrived. A friendly neighbor helped us decipher the automated process or i don’t know what we would have done. It needs directions in the guests’ language, directions to activate lights, and warning about the step down as you enter the room.

Lovely hotel, fantastic and spacious rooms - we had the family room. Breakfast was great too and a nice touch with their own little bar serving local beer. The Cassis beer was very tasty.

Hotel is a quirky renovated post house with medieval origins. Lovely position in centre of beautiful rose limestone medieval town with good restaurants. Breakfast was comprehensive and generous. Very good value for good rooms in a great location

Reception should be open later, it feels very empty, anonymous and impersonal past 8.00pm. For a hotel of that quality and rank, we would expect more staff and people you can speak to, not self-checking past 8.00pm. What makes a great hotel is also the staff, not just the location and the room. The staff when on duty is extremely helpful, friendly and nice. The hotel does not have a rest area.

Wifi did not work in the room. This was a big deal they need to fix. It’s our only complaint but it’s a VERY big one. I still rated it excellent on the condition that they fix this and because we loved the location and everything else. The tv cable wasn’t working either, that wasn’t as big of a deal since no English channels, but we had to then use data to watch shows on our phones.

Loved the cozy room, great warm lighting and the clean, updated bathroom.

The shower took close to 5 mins to heat up. Once it did, the shower was fantastic!

Beautiful building, nicely done room. Lovely mixed style of old and modern. Great location. Cute town, many restaurants.

No fountain in the toilet to wash your hands. Needed to go up the stairs to bathroom.
