L’Effrontee was simply gorgeous , a wonderful house and a wonderful host, Mattieux ! The house is tucked away in the hills surrounding Tourettes sur Loup with an easy 10 minute walk into the village. Upon arrival we were greeted by the host Mattieux and his little dog, Floppy, absolutely adorable. Mattieux is very, very nice and accommodating, he feels like an old friend. We were briefed about the house and then we had a welcome cocktail by the pool. The house is so tastefully decorated, as is the pool area and the rest of the garden. It was our last 2 nights in Provence so we just wanted to relax and we did just that, lounging by the pool, having a delicious lunch, ice ream and drinks. Our host suggested excursions and recommended several restaurants in the village,one of which we visited the first evening. The last evening we opted for the ” host dinner ” with Mattieux,his very nice mother and the other couple who was staying at L’ Effrontte,. Food was delicious, a 3 course dinner with drinks and pree cocktails!! It was by far the nicest evening we had during our holiday, Mattiuex being a wonderful host.As was his mother, a lady with a wicked sense of humor! All in all we had the best stay imaginable and we will be back for sure!

Once in a while you get to stay at a B&B that is the result of a dream and vision of the owner. This is one of those magical places. It is evident in the details of beauty, comfort and downright swank of every corner and view. The hotel is a short drive from Nice and easy walking distance to a tiny ancient village with lovely restaurants. That being said, Matthew is a chef and breakfast was to die for. We loved the family hosting us and their graciousness. I WILL be back and I'm bringing some friends! This time Matthew will do at least one dinner by the pool please and I won't forget to make reservations at My Ami Paul's. Can't say enough!

Beautiful building in a very calm area that is still very close to several amazing smaller old towns but also eg Nice. The rooms and shared areas are super stylish, the whole property is visually very pleasing. The rooms are quite big, definitely spacious enough. The property also had an amazing pool and area to sunbathe combined with a perfectly kept garden. The host is incredibly welcoming and warm, he takes amazing good care of the guests. The overall atmosphere is relaxed yet elegant. L‘Effrontée is such a gem, 10/10.

Everything was absolutely perfect.

Everything was incredible, the hosts, the location, the property - we had the very best experience. I can't recommend this property enough! Breakfast was such a lovely experience and some general info that is very helpful - the village is within easy walking distance and has a small supermarket with whatever you need, a delicious bakery (get there early, by around 3pm all the good things are long gone) and a few restaurants. A huge tip on restaurants - the village has a few restaurants but they are all small and VERY popular. You need to book months in advance for the Michelin star ones and at least a day in advance for all the others. The ones that are easier to book are mostly situated outside so if it's raining demand will be even higher for the indoor restaurants :)

To begin with we were welcomed very warmly at the gate by the hosts. from that moment, everything was a great surprise, even more beautiful than expected. They have put so much love and attention into all details (big and small), it really adds up to your holiday. They have thought about everything. It’s very clean, food is amazing, pool is very nice, sun beds are comfortable, we really can’t think of any points of improvement. We would highly recommend to stay at l’Effrontée if you are ready to experience the best and most relaxing holiday of your life! Thank you so much for this UNFORGETTABLE experience!!!

We had an amazing 3 nights staying at L’Effronte, it was the highlight of our 10 day trip. The house, gardens and pool area are stunning and the Magnolia suite where we stayed had beautiful views of the coast. Mathieu was the perfect host, so warm and friendly and incredibly helpful, making reservations at restaurants for us and advising us of things to do and see in the area. We also fell in love with their little dog Floopy who was a delight! Tourettes sur Loup is an easy 15 minute walk and Saint Paul de Vence and the coast are all within easy driving distance.

A wonderful, intimate country house, impeccably styled and maintained by Mathieu. The pool is large, the breakfast is fresh and the hospitality from Mathieu, Lucy (Mum), Cedric and Floopy (Yorkie) is incredibly warm and welcoming. Great views and an easy walk into Tourettes make L'Effrontée just about perfect. Absolutely loved our stay.

This tranquil place is haven on earth. Mathieu is a first class host that takes care of everything you need and more. Our room has an amazing view to the beautiful landscape and the pool. Excellent breakfast on the terrace overlooking the pool. Only 10 min easy walk to the center of Tourette Sur Loop

The place is amazing, Matt and his family did above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable, we spend our last 3 nights in L’Effrontee, and it was the peak of our trip. Every little detail and request was served in the best way, always with a smile.

L’Effrontée meets and exceeds all expectations for a wonderful stay in a historic villa overlooking the valley to the Cote d’Azur! The location of the villa is surrounded by olive trees and beautiful peaceful garden with a huge heated swimming pool. The rooms are furnished with a personal touch and elegance, thanks to both Mathieu, Cédric and mama, they are unbelievably friendly and kind! Mathieu is super attentive to details, with an fantastic delicious breakfast of homemade marmalades, yogurt, brioche, crêpes, fresh squeezed orange juice and endless local cheese, fruits…… Oh and the cocktail/ 3 course family style dinner is highly recommended. L’Effrontée is truely an amazing place with close proximity to the medival city of Tourrettes-sur-loup in the Alpes-Maritimes and within reach to fabulous places along the French Riviera. We had a wonderful time and shall be back !
