Very nice and knowledgeable staff. They have made the best to give us a great experience during our stay. As BIPoC and immigrant we felt very comfortable in the hotel and in the small town as well, which is not always the case in Germany.

Located in the Harz mountain, in a quiet area. Large free parking area right outside of the hotel.

The toilet looks clean but has a very strong pee smell, similar to the highway resting area toilet; The room and the common area also have an unpleasant smell, the towels as well; Despite the location in a very quiet area, the walls between rooms and the doors are really not sound proof.

Friendly owner. Lovely balcony overlooking forest. Great breakfast. Good shower power and warm room.

Lacking few basics like kettle in room and no access to kitchen and restaurant was closed during day so not able to get a drink. Lacking shower gel/soap.

The hotel was very close to lots of great hiking. The beds we had had automatic controls for reclining the mattress, That was cool. The staircase is very clean and has cute decorations along the stairs in a “down home Harz” kind of way.

we stayed there only 1 night. The few employees we encountered seem indifferent to guests. No one was available to complete check out at the normal check out time and we had to ring a service bell several times and yell out “hallo” to an unmanned reception area over 5 min or so. After check out, the owners let us know via the Booking app there was a slight misunderstanding in our reservation over our pet, but using a very unprofessional sarcastic, over dramatic and unfriendly tone. A few friendly light hearted words would go a longer way. As previous guests have noted, we had a room which had a shower IN the room itself. There is a LOT of carpeting in the room as well as carpet style wallpaper. We saw possible signs of mold. If you suffer from dust mite allergies and such don’t recommend such rooms as we found out with allergic reactions into the night while trying to sleep.
