We arrived just after the check in time, and the employee was nice, friendly and gave us some tips on places to see while we were there to visit. We walked to the 2nd floor and our room was situated on the right, only 1 additional room was next to ours. The room size i thought was spacious and nice, the double bed on the back wall, with space to either side. The window looking out to the road but you heard no noise when closed and it was nice to have it open as the weather was warm enough. Directly opposite the Bed (facing away from it) you had in the right corner a drawing desk, to the left of that the door to the bathroom and outside the door to the left a unit with a mini bar underneath. You also had on entering the room, straight ahead 2 wardrobes and then you enter the room to an L shape. Bathroom has plenty of light and we only stayed for an hour to relax, then we went out to explore Aschaffenburg. The Location i thought was perfect, it is a short walk to the Pompejanum, which you need to visit, then a nice walk along the Main and into the Schloss (Castle). So not so far from the main Centre and easy to access everywhere.

I cannot comment on breakfast as we did not book this, we felt for €15 Euro we could spend breakfast in the Old Town and explore more the next day. Parking was not so easy as it is full (i think 8 spaces) so we parked in the centre and walked 10mins back to the Hotel. I would not say i did not like this but i enter it here so you know that you have plenty of parking not so far away however with small kids, maybe that is not so easy etc.

The location is excellent, literally a 4 min walk to Schloss Johannisburg and old town, and only a few minutes from train station as well. Staff were friendly and helpful. I could check in early, because my room was ready, and leave my suitcase after check out for a few hours. Breakfast was excellent. So much to choose from, and all really delicious. Also a good range of vegan options. Room was very comfortable and quiet, even though it’s near a busy road. Bed and pillows also were comfortable.

Lovely double comfort room in a historic building. Plenty of space. Modern bathroom. We were able to store our bags before checkin. Breakfast was excellent - a great range of food. The fresh fruit salad and warm Croissants were appreciated. Location is perfect - close to all the attractions but quiet (given we were there during a music festival, this was a bonus). Staff were friendly and helpful.

Air conditioning was not working in the room. The room had a fan and luckily it wasn’t too hot.

Lovely location to the river - a 5 minute walk. Lots of green space outside. The room had AC, and the staff at the hotel were friendly and accommodating.

We were given a different/smaller room to what we had booked. However the hotel staff were very kind and sought ways to compensate us for the error.

We spent 4 nights here and are so glad we chose the ‘Ochsen’. The hotel is comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. The location is perfect for visiting the beautiful sites and connects quickly with the pedestrian center. The breakfast was fabulous with a great selection.

We were happy with everything but note that there are several stairs in the hotel.

Nice shower, comfy bed and great breakfast with lots of delicious and healthy vegan options. The staff was very helpful when we needed to set the temp for the air conditioning and giving us directions for sight seeing.

Wish our schedule allowed us to stay longer!

Extraordinary nice staff, very good breakfast, clean rooms, calm, great location near station and city center (but in a very safe environment). I was there for business, but I think the hotel is also very good for staying some days to relax and to visit Aschaffenburg city and parks.

Very nice bathroom and super clean. Staff was good. The breakfast is wonderful and worth every penny. Our hostess even offered to make us cappuccinos.

There is no elevator and we had to carry our luggage up the stairs.

This is where I always try (depending upon availability) to stay when I'm flying out of Frankfurt (about45 minutes train). It has a great location, not only near the train station but the river and old town. I love the old German look with modern conveniences. I've stayed in several places in Aschaffenburg over the years. while all have been fine, this is the best

FANTASTIC FAMILY RUN HOTEL.FRIENDLY STAFF. COMFORTABLE SPACIOUS ROOM WITH GOOD ENSUITE FACILITES. BREAKFAST IS VERY GOOD VALUE AND HIGH QUALITY. CLOSE TO TRAIN STATION. GREAT LOCATION TO CASTLE ON OLD PART OF TOWN.
