The hotel is situated exactly on the Eurovelo route 7, just before Güstrow. Very handy for anyone travelling on this route! They have secure bike storage facilities for guests. The lake view is very nice and there is a sauna accessible in the next building for hotel guests. The breakfast buffet had a wide range of food, nice ambiance in the restaurant. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Overall an excellent stay!

Bath robes in the hotel room would be a nice addition.

The location is really good. Quite close to the highway for our journey from Berlin to Rostock, yet far enough away that you do not hear any cars. Behind the hotel one finds a quiet forest, yet in front is a lively beach with plenty of options for swimming and other water-sports. Our room was clean, beds were comfortable, and the balcony door could open, yet came equipped with a screen door to prevent bugs from entering the room. While the reception closes at a reasonable hour, one can still pop-down to the restaurant and bar downstairs for a late-evening drink while overlooking the lake. In the morning, it offers a good breakfast served by amazing staff, which one again can take in- or outside and while enjoying the view.

We had the misfortune of arriving on one of the hottest days of the year, which accentuated the lack of airconditioning in the room. Luckily the large French balcony did allow for plenty of fresh air. On that note, the shower cubicle did not properly contain the water, so the floor of our bathroom became quite wet, and stayed damp throughout as there appeared to be little air circulation. Breakfast was served by amazingly friendly staff, who took very good care of us. However, most options appeared to be cold, except for eggs (which you can request any way you like!). The breads and fruits and meats and cheeses were certainly appetizing, but I have seen wider selections. While the beach was right behind the hotel, the main passage appears to go through the downstairs restaurant where swimwear is not permitted. Presumably one has to walk around the hotel after going for a swim, or change on the beach, which feels somewhat unnecessary. The room came with a complementary bottle of water, but coffee and tea costs $1 each; it feels a bit cheap. I would expect this in a youth hostel, not in a hotel of this calibre.
