We picked the hotel specifically as we planned to do the Leinpfad parkrun our way back from our holiday - the parkrun start is 5 mins walk, and the hotel has an 11am check out and served breakfast until 10am so we could just catch the end of service (I believe the hotel will accommodate later check out/breakfast if requested). The room was comfortable and adequate, if a little small for 3 people. Parking was easy, there are spaces directly outside the hotel and a small car park just across the street. The town is a short walk away and pleasant with a number of options for eating if you don't want to eat at the hotel, but these were very busy on a Friday night and two we tried (Blasius and Callari) needed reservations and weren't able to accommodate us.

The selection at breakfast wasn't great when we arrived at 9:40 and wasn't replenished. On arrival our room (triple room) was only made up with a double (the additional sofa bed was folded with no bedding). This was resolved after some time when there were enough staff to cover the desk. The double beds had a squeaky mattress protector under the sheets which were quite noisy when turning in the night. Our room was overlooked by the lift entrance so felt a bit intrusive unless you shut the curtains.

The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are well equipped and the showers are excellent. The food, evening meal, and breakfast are German style and good for traveling. The local wines are a fine match to the food.

Parking around the hotel is available, but could be taken by restaurant customers. So you may need to park on a local street. Google has problems navigating around the local bridge repairs.

We stopped for the night in Merzig on our way to Austria. The location close to the high way was convenient. They were so kind to allow us to have a last-minute late dinner in the hotel (the food was very nice !). Breakfast was very good with lots of fresh food. Rooms were decent, excellent price-quality ratio.

Lovely place to stay en route back to the UK. Staff all very friendly and we had a super meal in the restaurant. We slept well and everything was great. Thank you

It would have been lovely to have had tea and coffee making facilities in the room. I do like a cup of tea in bed.

I have arrived in an all day pouring rain crossing Germany with the aim to stay the night and get to the ferry back to England the next day. The hotel is in a perfect location for that as it's only a few minutes from the motorway. When the front desk staff saw that I am on a motorcycle she offered to put it in one of the hotels secure garages. That was a huge bonus for me. Dinner was delicious and served beautifully and the breakfast was great. From now on will be the hotel I will be staying at when crossing Europe.

We enjoyed everything about our stay in this hotel. Since we got in late, we had dinner at the restaurant. It was amazing! The room was very clean and the beds were so comfortable. Breakfast was great! We'd stay here again anytime.

Great location ( 3 mins walk from Merzig ( Saar) station ), very clean and super friendly staff. Beds were VERY comfortable. Breakfast at 9 euro pp was good value.

In summer it could be hot, as no AC or ceiling fan. Restaurant food was ok, but restaurant Blasius in town is recommended.

We picked this hotel as we wanted to stay in Merzig for a couple of nights and be close to the park run. Hotel was lovely and staff were all very friendly and helpful. Also, the excellent breakfast is available from 7am so my wife and I could get something to eat before she started her park run at 9am.

A perfect location with ample parking and very close to the bus terminus. The bar was well stocked with a great selection of wines and spirits.

To be honest I don’t think there was much I didn’t like. Possibly my only complaint was that there wasn’t enough pillows but I managed with the one I had.

This is an excellent hotel for a stopover just off the autobahn. Very comfy quiet rooms, good bed and shower. Breakfast had lots of choice and it starts at 7am even on Sundays, which was great for us early risers. Merzig is a nice town - It's a short walk into the town where there are some good restaurants and bars.

Everything was great!
