Scenic drive up to the castle with a convenient place to park. Check in was quick and easy. When we found our room did not have a bathtub, we were happily accommodated with a room having a huge bathtub in a larger bathroom and generously sized robes and slippers provided. The setting is spectacular overlooking the lake and we were treated to a beautiful sunset. We had the sauna and hot steam rooms to ourselves as the hotel was not fully booked. Breakfast with a view is always nicer with many windows that overlooked the lake. Very extensive and delicious breakfast buffet that offered many lactose free options. When I asked for lactose free yogurt, I was brought a large bowl of one of the best yogurts I have ever had. No wonder that locals bring visitors to the breakfast.

Quiet and serene. The rooms were clean and well stocked -although a private coffee pot would have been nice. The towel warmer was wonderful. The views were incredible. The staff were all professional, helpful and friendly. A mid January visit means most of the neighboring towns were resting after the Christmas bustle. It took some searching to find shops that were open. We had a wonderful 3 night stay and would definitely recommend it.

Location above the Edersee was superb; well maintained castle with 2 restaurants and a huge terrace overlooking the Edersee Talsperre; parking directly in front of the entrance

I really love having a coffee machine in the room - unfortunately none here; for me, two single matresses put into one larger frame does not represent a 'large double bed' - at least not fully.

Location was great, the Kitchen was the best - both breakfast and dinner the food was superb.

Staff was rigid and not accommodating. I had stored medications and the food manager man could not be bothered to help out when I needed them, and clearly his staff were afraid of helping me in fear of him. Despite not being full at all they disallowed an upgrade (I would’ve paid for) because of a minimum night stay … but it’s unsold and I’m already here?

Beautiful hotel located in an old castle, with a wonderful view over the nearby lake. Country view was also very relaxing, with a lot of green hills. Beds were very comfortable and the rooms were spotless clean.

Wish we could have stayed longer. Also spa was closed the Monday when we arrived and we didn't have time to check it out.

Exceptional View of the lake and dam. I'm glad that the lake had water during the time of our stay. We rode the gondolas down and walked to the water for an hour-long ferry ride around the lake. We took the self-guided tour of the castle and marveled at its history as a women's prison.

I've seen pictures of various times when the lake was nearly empty. DUE DILEGENCE would be to make sure that the lake has water during the time of your stay. This place would lose 72% of its appeal with an empty lake.

The view from both bedroom and restaurant terrace were spectacular in themselves. Such a delight to see at the ends of the day. Restaurant staff were extremely helpful and obliging. The receptionist exceeded our expectations by volunteering advice on going to see the Eder Dam in the dark. We were very happy indeed!

Loved our stay at the Waldeck Castle. Rooms were very spacious, beautiful and clean and had stunning views. This was a value for money treat on our europe holiday. The beautiful little town of Waldeck was very welcoming...Friendly locals that were very accommodating. Would definately recommend a stay in this beautiful part of the world. Thank you

Nothing, a perfect night stay.

Amazing location over looking the Eder lake and the dam. Food and breakfast excellent. Safe area to park motorbikes as we were a group of 7.

The property was great. Our only complaint which is just one of those things is that the top floor rooms get rather warm due to the fact they are in the roof. Fans are available to use but it gets rather humid at night even with the windows open. Not much of a complaint I know.

Very relaxing stay in a castle with spa and sauna area enough for privacy and still big enough for all the guests. The rooms were comfortable and we had a bathtub as well. Views in winter make you feel like you're on top of the clouds. We were lucky to have a lot of sun as well.

Too short of a stay for us. We have to come back to experience it again
