This hotel does the basics well. There is a tv, a good shower, separate toilet, several plugs, enough lights. Everything works. Near Ikea. Only 7 km to the Park and Ride for the Schwebe bahn, (suspension railway) station, 24 / 48 hour tickets available at the DB station machine, Oberbarman. (The Relay shop lady kindly helped us.)

There are not maps to take away, nor any brochures.

We used it strictly to sleep, eat breakfast and hit the motorway again. It was perfect for us. Basic but we didn't need anything else. Rooms were clean and breakfast was ok as well. Location is only 3 min from motorway.

Can’t go wrong for that price! Clean, comfy, powerful shower. Nothing to complain about. Location is good too being close to the motorway and not too far from the supermarket and other amenities. Would recommend for sure!

Their self check-in system at their entrance when there is no receptionist or the receptionist comes late as he did before I figured it out that I can self check in.

You leave your room to go purchase some stuff for personal use before you officially check out for the day and the door locks until you pay even when you paid for room use and reuse before the advertised check-out time lapses. Besides that, I got a cheaper place later when I left that same day which also offered a buffet breakfast as part of the room cost. Some staff were cold, mean with information and disinterested.

The hotel has sufficient free parking on site, and a short drive from Wuppertal and its famous schwebebahn. Don’t bother with the hotel breakfast there’s a McDonald’s two minutes up the road !

Using the automated check-in machine, the check-in process charged me twice and it took two weeks to get the refund of the additional charge back

The location isn't bad at all, not too far from the A46 Autobahn and about 6KM from the city centre. Pretty safe surroundings too, as the manager told us that "nothing ever happens here". A restaurant, a supermarket and a gas station are just around the corner. The road is a busy one and especially early in the morning there is lots of traffic which is noticeable in the rooms on the front side of the hotel, but still not as bad as in many other locations in and around the city. With the window closed, one hears almost nothing. Lots of good, free and monitored parking available. For the rest, as one can expect from an IBIS hotel, the rooms are small and spartan but efficient and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable and the sheets are clean. Perfect for one or two nights just to sleep, even with a family. Quite centrally located for its surroundings and a very good alternative to many of the much more expensive places in and around Wuppertal.

Inbetween the three of us we only had two pillows and as the reception is closed and unmanned after 22:00 hrs, there was no way of having this resolved coming back after dinner. Also the shower did not seem to be very clean as dirt could be seen and it was stinking a bit. But perhaps that's just in room 204.
