Very simple, traditional hotel, beautiful location- very quiet part of the island.

There seemed to be an odd bias against booking.com customers- eg breakfast was not included if you had booked through booking.com and needed to be paid for up front each day. The €10 breakfast did not include coffee of choice- that was an extra charge. With no room tab offered, everything seemed oddly transactional.

From the moment we stepped into the cool plant-shaded patio, with its.old-school jazz, songbirds and friendly old resident cat, we loved Vagia Hotel. It's a place with a true spirit, thanks to our host Notis. Lovely rooms with vintage wood furniture and nice firm bed, plenty of hot water, good AC and very little noise save from birds. The breakfast spread is great, with sweet (but not overly sweet) and savory homemade cakes, jams, and great yogurt. The meals served in the restaurant reminded my Greek-born husband of his mother's cooking, in a good way. We didn't sample the cocktails but the bar is very well stocked. Our cozy, friendly stay was made even more pleasant by the smiling, graceful Daphne serving breakfast and dinner. A treasure! All in all, as you can see, we were very happy there, thank you Notis!

The village of Vagia doesn't have the best phone signal, and our internet connection was spotty at times.

We wanted a quiet retreat away from the main hub and not so touristy place that allows us to be close to the nature. Must say that Vagia Hotel ticked all boxes and how. The property is beautifully done. I found there were some nice corners all around the property where you could sit with your book and enjoy the morning sun. More importantly, the people were warm and welcoming. The recommendations made by the owner was great and we found a hidden gem. He is always open for a nice chat up.

Nothing much. However, I would like this to serve as a cautionary message for people who might have the wrong expectations from the place. It is in a village on the other side of the main port and you will need to have your own transport to fully enjoy every nook and corner of the island. No supermarkets nearby, but there is a very nice Greek restaurant for dinner that serves the best kalamaki and sausages for dinner. One more thing, my wife found the mattress a bit too hard for her liking. I found it was great for my back and had sound sleep.

Such a beautiful property! The gardens were in full bloom, and there were so many little nooks you could tuck yourself into to read, eat, etc. Notis and the staff were very friendly, and always took the time to help with whatever you needed.

The sheets were fairly low quality, and the bed wasn't the most comfortable in the world. Breakfast was pricey for the selection, and the dinner menu was sparce. Additionally, I accidentally left behind a pair of diamond earrings on my last day. When I emailed to let the staff know, I was told they only found one of them. I'm fairly positive the pair was together when I left, and I find it strange only one was found. Nothing against the staff, and I'm not saying they stole anything, but not being able to find the missing earring in a relatively small room is bizarre. Otherwise, a great stay in paradise!

A Couple’s Romantic Getaway My partner and I stayed at Vagia Traditional Hotel for a romantic getaway, and it was absolutely magical. The atmosphere is so charming and intimate, with a traditional Greek vibe that made us feel like we were in a fairytale. Notis and his team were incredibly attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed while still giving us plenty of privacy. The breakfast was a highlight—fresh, homemade, and served in the most picturesque garden setting. We loved the cozy room, which was spotless and beautifully decorated. The hotel’s location is perfect for couples, with a quiet beach just a short walk away and stunning views of the island. It truly felt like a paradise, and we left feeling more connected than ever. We can’t wait to return!

As a single girl traveling alone, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience at Vagia Traditional Hotel. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely safe and welcomed. Notis, the host, was incredibly kind and made sure I had everything I needed. The atmosphere was so peaceful and relaxing—perfect for some much-needed "me time." The breakfast was delicious, with fresh, local ingredients, and I loved enjoying it in the beautiful garden. The staff treated me like family, and I even made friends with some of the other guests. The location is ideal, close enough to explore the island but far enough to feel like a true escape. I left feeling refreshed and already planning my next visit. Highly recommend this gem for solo travelers!

Perfect location, tasty food and drinks, super friendly stuff, I felt like at home. 5 minutes walking to the beach and 20 minutes walking to the temple. Room was with beautiful views and exceptional interior. Besides beauty all was super comfortable in use. I’m very thankful for the stuff as they showed me 100% Greek hospitality. Even though there wasn’t electricity when I arrive we managed to solve the question and waited till electricity came back . Home maid lemonade definitely worth a try.

The staff are helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is very beautiful, really nice balcony in room even without the sea view. And very nice to sit in the restaurant.

I wouldn't recommend staying in Vagia town if you are alone and/or without a car. The bus can take you out of the town only in the morning, there's not much options to explore the island. And scooter rent is expensive! Although the Vagia area is a nice one, the other locations on the island are nicer, more to explore and better beaches. The ones in Vagia weren't very clean. Although the one 0.5km walk from hotel was decent. But I do recommend staying here if you're with a car because the hotel is old but super beautiful. Keep in mind also that the wifi at the hotel isn't great but I guess it might be because the service in Vagia isn't great in general, so don't bring any work with you!

The hotel is beautiful. We were very comfortable in our room and on the front “porch-like” area. Noti and Daphne were incredibly inviting, warm, and friendly. The rest of the staff were the same. Other guests were also very nice. We enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner there. The area is amazing and relaxing.

The hotel style and design is very cute. Many starts at night and very peaceful calming balcony with jasmine and pomegranate. Good internet and comfortable stay. Great drink options and food options. The staff knows island very well. Very quiet neighbourhood. Once we took a motorbike the island opened up in a new way, its very interesting and diverse landscapes, the three shore lines, the monastery valley and the zeus temple valley were all incredible places. We had a very good 4 days. (motorbikes were approximately 35-40 eur per day, it seems like its a must in a greek summer holiday)

What i didn't realise was how far the Vagia location was from the main port. The public bus timings are not very comfortable, the last bus to the Vagia from the main port was at 14:30 and alternative taxi is 20 eur, so it's almost a must to get a rented car or motorbike (which we did). Another unpredictable thing was the weather, the winds from Athens brought waves and trash on the north side of the island so we had to travel south to swim. Vagia area also suffered from the floods a week earlier to our stay and the paths were damaged near the shore. Breakfasts were appealing however a bit expensive.
