Everyone is welcoming and the staff are always around to help with every need. The rooms are brilliant and have a good AC and mosquito net. The showers and bathroom are shared but it isn’t an issue because they are never fully occupied . Everyone is so relaxed and friendly here because there is nothing to stress about. There is no locked doors( however there is a locked cupboard for important items) but we trusted the place enough to leave our stuff there on the daily. There is also a pool and beanbags to relax at. The owner is very kind and gave us free water,coffee and tea whenever we wanted. They also have a kitchen with appliances so you can cook and make your own food if you wanted to. If I come back to canggu there is no doubt I would be staying here again.

We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of this place for such a cheap price. Yes, it's basic but they've made such a good effort with it. Air con worked great in the hut, pool & bathrooms were always clean and the bed was one of the comfiest mattresses and pillows we've ever used (we've stayed in a lot of different $$ places in Bali & S.E asia). The staff were friendly and helpful. It always felt safe and clean.

Would be great if they had another plug socket but we managed with one and there was more in the common areas if you really needed. Everything else was great - especially for the budget!

It was my house for 2 months, the personnel is friendly, everything is clean, if it's not that mean it's the guest cause they maintain everyday, fridges and AC works fine, outside and inside shower, you are inside of canggu without the traffic noise, indomaret 2 min walks and you can ask towels and change bed sheets as you want, I recommend 10/10 Shout out to my friend diodik who maintain everything in salty and was my friend during my stay and friendly wayan if you need surf lessons..

The accommodation was luxury for this price point. It's a little distance to the beach and main part of the town from the property but we happily walked each day! There is a cafe five minutes walk away that we loved (Amolas cafe) which had great food and drinks. The friendly staff were always around the kitchen area to help out or just for a chat. This was our first stay in Bali and we loved it.

It is essentially glamping so if you're a very light sleeper it's maybe not the place for you if you like a lie in.

Probably the best homestay in Canggu! The bungalows are pretty clean, with air conditioner, you can rent a scooter directly from the owner (5mn to the beach)... The most appreciated is the ambiance, the common area like allows you to meet people really easily, and Wayan the owner is fantastic! You can join him in his surf school and take your first lessons, or rent your board. The staff is also very attentive, they give you some advices, play some games with you, what else for a guesthouse ?

My stay at Salty Shakas was fantastic. The place has a relaxed and authentic vibe. The rooms were clean. The staff was friendly and always willing to help. They also offer scooter rentals, which made it much easier to get around and explore the area. Plus, they have a kitchen where you can prepare basic meals, which is super convenient.

The only downside was the bed—it was too soft for my taste. But overall, everything else was good 😊

The design of the bungalows and the stay itself is really nice and the place is well kept. There is also a pool in the middle of the garden and a nice common area where to chill and have free coffee/water/tea whenever you like. There are a lot of small restaurants around the place as well as supermarkets and pharmacy at walking distance. The beach is reachable in 5-10 minute by motorbike. The owner was really nice and helpful and also offers surf lessons if needed!

Unfortunately the staff became very grumpy all of a sudden and stopped saying hi and talking to us. We were a bit confused about this behaviour :(

Lovely and clean facilities - shared toilets and showers but always kept nice and clean. Beds were comfy and the mosquito nets were really handy. Shared kitchen came with good equipment and we cooked there multiple times. Fresh cold drinkable water supply as well. Lovely staff and easy going guests.

They can’t do anything about this but there is a couple of chickens that are relentless in the morning. Is a ~45 min walk to the beach but the roads are chaos and the pavements are pretty much non existent so is not really doable. 10 mins on the back of a grab scooter though so is easily resolved.

Good location to be out of the main part of Canggu and still close to it all. Pool was great to paddle in, aircon was great in the room. Super clean and cute doggies around the property. I don’t often leave reviews but was super happy with our stay here, host was lovely

Not a negative just something to note - sound can be heard easily from other guests, guy playing music very early it woke us up, and you will have a cockerel alarm haha. Again not a negative just be mindful of sound

I met a lot of people when I was around. They were all pretty awesome and we created a little family. Went to the beach, to clubs, bars etc together. We just sat, chat and shared meals but you could explore on your own as well. Perfect combination for my first hostel stay. I loved it. Putu was as well really friendly and gave us some Arak and just shared time with us!

Well everything was fine but the toilets and the beds could have been a bit cleaner I think. But Putu was cleaning everyday so I think maybe it's just not the European standard we're used to.
