Would highly recommend Roemah 28. Comfy snuggly beds, clean facilities, towels, shampoos, toilet paper all provided, friendly staff, good food and great coffee selection. Even the stairwell landings and hall had furniture, painting and antique decor, flower arrangements. Street walking distance to central shopping. Had a beautiful ambience with retro vintage decor throughout and nice courtyard for outdoor eating. Pizza cart and Vespa collection. Felt like we were in quaint Italian cafe scene. Sorry to say Im not staying in Medan again on travels otherwise we would be back.

Nothing it was perfect

Its very close to the center but not so close to the main road. Its a perfect place to stay. Away from the crowd yet easy to walk around. Safe neighborhood even a bit creepy at night since many abandoned houses around. It was safe though. Two disappointments from me when i stayed the wi fi didn't work on my phone. So strange even its connected. And when i asked the night shift manager/ reception, he seemed not so helpful. He said it works for everyone else so he didn't know what to do. Its okay to be honest but receiving that kind of answer with the tone like 'i dont care, its your problem,' when you just arrived, tired and confused kinda made me feel unwelcome and thought he was kinda rude. First impressions last, in the morning when i said the aircond wasnt cold enough he also said, "Its impossible, the previous guest had no complain and usually its been always good". He asked me to talk to the Day manager/ reception who handled my issues well. The air cond went well, cold and strong. Even though my wi fi issue was still a mystery.

The wi fi didnt work well on my phone and the night reception was a bit rude the way he communicate The bed is comfortable for 1, but i think not so comfortable for two.

Restaurant and lobby of the hotel are nicely decorated and result in a cosy atmosphere. The menu is varied and tasty, specifically coffee is great as the owner knows all about it and roasts his own coffee. Room was clean and has AC which works well, noise was limited though we slept with earplugs. The owner is specifically helpful for travellers and assists in planning your next move if desired, all in all a nice experience.

For those traveling on their own, meeting other folks is possibly difficult as you’re on the outskirts of Medan and there is no common living area.

The location is in residential area. It was peaceful and quite. The staff welcome us very nicely even we arrived very late at night.

The restaurant/cafe open a bit late. We were expecting to have our breakfast in the morning because we departed at 7.30am but it was not opened yet. They told us they will be open around 9am. The bed size was also a bit small but it was so cheap already.

The hotel was very nice! With retro vibe and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The lobby was pretty and they provide food to order if you are hungry. The indomie bangla was so good. And they help to keep our baggage for a while when we out to buy sourvernier too. Bang retno even help to fix our bike side mirror. Really recommend this place.

The staff are friendly and hardworking. The location is near city. You'll have a cozy cafe at the lounge. Room is clean and equipped with A/C, TV, toilet, towel. You get what you paid.

The bed is quite small for 2 adults. My request for extra towel was rejected. Have to go to the lounge area to iron your clothes. No elevator.

the room space for muslim to pray in the room was limited.. but they do provide musholah in the ground floor..

We had a great stay at Roemah 28. The staff is super friendly, the food at the restaurant is tasty and they have a huge selection of different coffees. It was no problem to leave our stuff at the reception after checkout, so we could enjoy our day in Medan.

I can highly recommend staying here! The staff was super welcoming and accommodating, the room was very clean and nice and the location is also in a nice neighbourhood. Thanks so much for everything!

Jeffri was wonderful- the coffee was great. They had decent breakfast offerings as well. The staff was happy to move our rooms for better internet connection. We were also able to get laundry done quickly.
