We had a great stay here. There was a mosque in front of the homestay and halal food was easily found around the area. The room was spacious and we even had a pantry. The staffs were friendly and helpful. They helped us arranged the sunrise jeep tour and airport transfers. We had a hearty breakfast. The wifi was fast. The room also had a great view.

It is a cosy guesthouse with hospitable and friendly staff people. If you do not want to bother yourself with any trips or transfers they arrange everything for you for a reasonable price. The room was spacious enough with a clean, simple bathroom with hot water. They offer a nice area to sit and relax after hiking Bromo. It takes about 40 min to get to the national park. We took sunset and sunrise trips with a super driver of a blue, fast jeep😃. Breakfast is simple but tasty in indonesian style and you can have also boiled eggs with some toasts. I highly reccommend the place.

The staff were great. Very helpful and friendly. The hotel food was great. Clean room. We had a nice view from our room over the town and hills. We could walk to another hotel for dinner and we could walk to a local market for groceries. Nice location. The car traffic wasn't too bad even though we were on the main road that jeeps took to Mt. Bromo. It was a good value homestay.

It was difficult to get hot water in the shower. Not sure if that was temporary. We were directly across the street from a mosque which was extremely loud. We understood that we were in a Muslim village and we respect the call to prayer custom, but some people will find it very difficult to sleep during the call to prayer because it was so close to the hotel and early in the morning (5:30am?). There is a fan in the room, no AC. We knew that ahead of time. We kept the doors open and we were fine. It wasn't too hot. There was construction happening next door, but it wasn't too distracting. The hotel provided earplugs if you wanted them.

The team from Gubuk Ndeso really helped us to have the perfect stay in the Bromo area. The staff there was super helpful before our arrival and even organised an airport pickup/drop-off as well as the vulcanoe tour for us. We could easily pay everything by card on arrival. On top, the rooms are perfect for a short stay at the Bromo area and you even have your own little terrace on which they serve you a yummy breakfast once you get back from the volcanoe tour. All and all our Bromo trip wouldn’t have been as great as it was without the Gubuk Ndeso Homestay and were so grateful for their services!

Travelled by taxi arranged by host, prompt and efficient service. Welcomed on arrival with refreshing drink. Very informative host, comprehensive details and options for visiting Mt Bromo following morning. Breakfast choices were offered, for delivery to our room at our chosen time, tables and chairs outside, with a communal kitchen to allow self preparation of food/drinks if required. Booked jeep tour to Mt Bromo through the host which worked perfectly, despite the 2.00am start, which turned out to be ideal because it allowed best parking option near King Kong viewpoint. Resort across the road which allowed visitors for meals and /or drinks.

Nothing, everything was fine

The room itself was perfect, everything we could need and comfortable bed, clean bathroom, etc. There is a communal kitchen that you can make coffee in - great if you’re planning an early morning excursion to Mt Bromo! What really made our stay is how accommodating the staff were - even made us breakfast after the cut off time which we didn’t expect but really appreciated! They really cater to the tourists there to see Bromo and have their needs and experience in mind. Overall, we would absolutely book this place again. There is no need to look elsewhere :)

Nothing, fantastic stay!

Rooms are clean. Breakfast option was limited to local and continental - the fried rice is delicious. I like the owners listen to reviews and improve - now there are white sheets covering the blanket. Bed is firm and the amenities provided are thoughtful - 2 pairs of sensodyne toothbrush and ear plugs to block the traffic noise. Homestay is located maybe half way up the hill and the air is fresh and cool in the morning. My room faced northwest and I have a nice morning view without the morning sun. Room feels cool just fine with the fan (no aircond) and its nice to be able to open the door and enjoy the breeze.

Owners may want to invest in mattress protector to prolong the life of the mattress and for sanitary reasons. During low season the mattress could be given a good wash. Install railings along the slope leading to the hotel for safety reasons. A raised divider and curtains in the bathroom would be good to segregate the toilet and basin to keep it dry.

This place was simple but pristine. Comfortable bed, good water pressure, good wifi and a freshly cooked breakfast into the bargain. Meals are available in the early evening for a small price. The staff were very kind and easy to deal with. The guesthouse is on the route up to the Mt Bromo crater.

There is a mosque right in front of the guesthouse. The staff realise this could be an issue with the early call to prayer, so ear plugs are supplied.

This homestay was lovely - we chose this place specifically for one night so that we could go to Bromo and it was in a great place for that. The staff helped us book with someone for that excursion and it was super easy. We liked that we were able to pay by card too, which was a bonus. The place itself is placed in a lovely setting. We were able to order food for the night from a nearby restaurant and it was easy for them to find us. The breakfast was nice too - the staff were super nice during all of our interactions as well.

The bathroom could do with a bit of love I think. There was a cat that needed a lot of love and cleaning, we sure hope the hotel can look after it.

It’s a lovely charming homestay. Already felt welcomed before we arrived as I got a text asking if they can be of help . Tastefully decorated Balinese style and ran by the sweetest ladies. I ordered dinner en route to the homestay as they don’t provide dinner and they kept texting me for updates on my ETA as they wanted to time the food to be freshly cooked and warm when I arrive . Rooms are beautiful with a nice shower area and very clean . Aircond works well enough at night and we had a very good sleep. Only less than an hour away from the Ijen crater so we didn’t have to wake up too early for the am hike .

It’s very warm in the late morning . I wish they have ceiling fans as the aircond was not powerful enough to cool the room. Or at least a fan in the relaxation area to make the inviting area more suitable for chilling .
