After weeks of traveling in bigger cities, this oasis on the black-sand coast of northern Bali was absolute perfection. The room we stayed in was an open-air bungalow and the fresh air and sounds of nature (while protected with mosquito netting) had me sleeping the best I have in months. Everyone we interacted with was warm, friendly, and welcoming. They took such exquisite care of us and our kids and made us feel like family. The food was delicious and varied enough that we never felt we were missing out by eating at the resort restaurant. We loved it so much we extended our stay from 5 nights to 9 and will absolutely try to make it back one day.

The Villa Borech is a beautiful place — the building, gardens, and overall architecture are very nice, well-kept, and culturally sensitive to the area and local customs while still feeling welcoming and comfortable for visitors from anywhere. Getting there can be a bit challenging since it’s quite far from Denpasar Airport and the surrounding areas outside the villa aren’t really suitable for walks — having a good local driver is essential. I was lucky to have the best driver and guide, Ari, who took me to amazing sites and temples and shared so much interesting information about Indonesian customs, religion, and traditions. For anyone who truly has a passion for Indonesian culture, this is a wonderful base if you have transportation. The food at the villa was excellent — fresh local produce, fruits, and spices, with delicious flavors and options that are clean and friendly for healthy and organic eating. The team at the villa was super kind, attentive, and a pleasure to be around. The Indonesian massages, facial, and hair treatments were absolutely superb! Overall, I’d highly recommend The Villa Borech to travelers looking for a beautiful, authentic Bali experience — just make sure you have a good local driver to help you make the most of it.

It is a green garden with many paths like a labyrinth and the rooms are hidden away. The best thing was the massage with the sound of the sea. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. The food was wonderful, I recommend ordering local specialties in advance. It's the rainy season and there are hardly any guests, so I was allowed to use the yoga seminar on my own. A beautiful moment! Beds are fresh like flowers. The rooms are clean and open.

I liked wverything. Just keep in mind: Suitable for anyone who appreciates nature. There are spiders, insects and frogs, you should get along with them to enjoy your stay.

We already miss you Bella bird, the most polite and calm hornbill. Thank you Putu, Ari, Putu, Dewi and gentlemen who caught and cooked us a little fish, and all the staff who engaged with us, many I didn't get names. The villa without walls was next level and very comfortable and joyful-tree-house-like for our 7 year old. The pools were divine. Food was authentic Balinese incorporating local variations and absolutely delicious. Greens are grown out back in a massive and serious self-sufficient veggie patch and aquaponic set up. Even there are goats. GOATS! As fellow organic veg growers we were impressed and this was the most beautiful place we have ever stayed, a total oasis. A hidden gem, off the beaten track that forces you to enjoy the resort and relax!

I loved the spa design, rather smart. Treatments were spot on. The white fish that follow you, added to the natural serenity and my absolute joy. The pillows (not too big and puffy) and mattresses were so comfy, just how we like it! Gardens and architecture an absolute pleasure to be amongst. Our overall score is 11 out of 10.

The place is magical, The view on the ocean, the beautiful garden, the cabin where we slept but special the staff was really amazing. I can't say anything what disappointed us. By arrival we were received so friendly by the manager and during our stay we did 2 times a tour with Ari and it was amazing how he took us around and showed us the special places in the area. Thanks a lot Ari, we want to see more and next time you will be again our tourguide! Also our little daughter Hannah really love you! The massage by Satya we can also really recommend, she did a great job!

We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay, including the exceptional staff, the delectable cuisine, the relaxing massages, and even the delightful bird named Bela, who resides at the resort. This is a very special place not only in terms of Bali but the whole South East Asia. This retreat is the place where you find real peace and quiet. It is created for people who need to unwind. That means that owners make a real effort not to disturb the peace of any of the quests. There is no music at the restaurant, there is no music at the pool, no music in Spa. Instead, you meet nature - the sound of the sea, birds, frogs, streams, and all local fauna and flora including roosters at 5 am :). All maintenance works are done manually, swiping, and cutting grass; nothing noisy is used, which makes this place so unique. Apart from the cleanliness and quality of materials of the Balinese houses, bathrooms, and common places, there are very few guests at the same time. There is also a house pet - a tamed hornbill - that adds to the uniqueness of this place. I need to mention the Villa team - a very warm and caring people! Also, the trips offered here are unique. You can learn how to do Balinese offerings, you can also do cultural trip, go to the real Balinese houses and try to understand their day-to-day. I travel a lot, but there are single places with the soul during the last 2 years of my travel - and this is a gem among them!

The only minus is that to get to the Villa you have to somehow get yourself to the north of Bali. This asks for additional effort and funds. But its worth it!

One of the best hotels in the world. Beautiful huge garden in Balinese style, cottages made only of natural materials, no plastic, no TVs, so there is no matrix noise, you can only hear the voices of nature. Everything at a very high level and a really low price. This resort is so good that I would like to keep it just for myself ! PS. Getting to this place I guarantee that it will also be an adventure unforgettable for the rest of your life :))).

The staff were really nice and helpful. The food was the best value for money that we got in Indonesia (plenty of protein and veggies). The juices were very good. The room was great, super comfortable. If you are looking for a place to relax and recharge your batteries, then don't look further. The place is located around 4 hours from the airport and you can organise pick-up with the property. Great place to see the sunrise ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We will definitely go back to this amazing place.

The breakfasts & food on the menu was great at Villa Boreh, including their homemade bread, which is good because the distance to anywhere else is a bit far! The staff were very kind and attentive and the grounds were lush and beautiful, with many statues and sacred areas, and very tall trees. The hornbill is a gorgeous friendly bird which moves around the resort freely. I had a spa treatment and it was excellent, well organised, and the spa room was the best I’ve been in- surrounded entirely by ponds and the sound was so relaxing. Our 2 room bungalow was split level with steep stairs, enormous beds, mosquito nets with fans. Very authentic traditional grass room and open air (but does have 2 types of curtains!) The 2 pools were lovely, with views overlooking the sea. Lots of places to sit during the day, and lovely atmosphere at night. There is a tiny gym on the grounds too, but there isn’t a fan in there.

The staff are doing really well here and nothing I didn’t like!
