We originally booked for 7 nights, but we keep extending our stay here. We will sty for 25 days in total. The Guest House feels like home, it has 3 rooms in total, which is perfect. The location is perfect – We have been in Bali for 6 months and this is our favorite place so far. The villa and surroundings are so beautiful, surrounded by mountains, rice fields, rivers and waterfalls. There are shops & restaurants in the village, just 1 km away. The villa is close to some of Bali's most beautiful waterfalls: Sekumpul Waterfall, Fushi Waterfall, & he waterslide. There is also a beautiful hiking trail around the villa, which we have walked several times. The food is delicious: Both breakfast and dinner. Every morning and evening, you can choose to eat in the villa, which we have done every day so far. The food is made with fresh ingredients and generous portions. Breakfast includes bread, fresh pancakes, and homemade jam from different fruits. Lots of fruit. Coffee, tea, juice,.. Sometimes yogurt, bread, eggs,... Dinner is amazing (!always ends with a homemade dessert, such as passion fruit, mango, coconut, and dragon fruit ice creams, as well as chocolate cakes and more. They often surprise you with something extra to taste, like local fruits, snacks, or other treats he picks up at the local market. The pool is great and the garden is beautiful, with plants and flowers, and everything is very well maintained. The rooms are clean and spacious, have good beds, furniture in good condition and plenty of storage space. Also good bathroom: shower has hot water with good water pressure. All listed facilities are available & functioned perfectly: fast WiFi, fully equipped kitchen, scooter rental, laundry service, massages, local guides, and free water, coffee, and tea all day. A must-do: The owners are partner with an association supporting Indonesian children's education. You can visit the association.
Literally nothing! All was perfect.

After +20 years of travel experience as independent traveler and +15 years experience as hotel manager, this is doubtless one of the best accomodations I have ever been to. I mainly would highlight the professionality of Patrick, the person in charge, truly focused on guest satisfaction. The place has it all, the standard of service, cleanliness, maintenance, gardening, activities, room comfort, remote working facilities, food, breakfast is just unbeatable, hard to find not only in Bali, but anywhere in the world for these rates. I know how hard you have to work to keep it up, so I just must show my respect and say "Congratulations Villa Markisa Pakisan team"

We had an amazing stay at a lovely French couple's accommodation in Bali. The serene surroundings and breathtaking views surpassed our expectations, leading us to extend our stay by two extra nights. The location was a hidden gem, far away from the touristy areas, offering a relaxed and cozy atmosphere. The local town had a friendly and welcoming community, allowing us to experience authentic Balinese hospitality. The accommodation provided reliable WiFi, enabling us to effortlessly make video calls back to Europe. This was a crucial factor for us, and we were pleased with the seamless connection. Exploring the area was made convenient with the excellent scooters available for rent at the best rates we found on the island. We had the freedom to discover the untouched beauty of Bali, including a memorable hike through the nearby valley. The stunning natural landscapes and serene rice fields were far more impressive than the crowded tourist attractions marked on maps. Overall, our stay was nothing short of exceptional. The genuine hospitality of the French couple, combined with the picturesque surroundings, created an unforgettable experience. We highly recommend this tranquil retreat to anyone seeking an authentic and peaceful stay in Bali.

I am incredibly delighted to have discovered this wonderful villa in the north of Bali. At first, it was the villa that drew me in, but I soon found true friends and a family there. The incredible atmosphere created by the owner, the charming Frenchman Patrick, is something out of a dream. Traveling solo, my aim was to immerse myself in the culture, nature, and ultimately, to find myself. This place offered exactly what I was searching for. Everything about the villa was perfect – the breakfasts, cleanliness, comfort, coziness, and relaxation (you can order a massage at any time). Patrick can arrange anything you wish for, just ask. Special thanks to him and the guide Wayan. I am thrilled and highly recommend this villa to all travelers, especially families. You’re in for a wonderful surprise.

Wonderful experience in authentic Bali! Patrick and Dominique are perfect hosts. They show us so many things in the area...And can speak English, French and Indonesian. Rooms are almost new, well maintained, decorated and clean. Pool has a wonderful view as the terrace with kitchen. You can see beautiful sunset. The breakfast is just so yummy, crêpes, jam, fresh fruits 😋😋 The Villa is located in a small village Pakisan, between rice paddies and mountain. The real Bali... You need a scooter or a driver, which is very easy to find in Bali. We loved our week in the Villa. We will come back for sure ❤️ PS: the villa was closed between November and March, which explains why there were no reviews.

I really regret not staying one more night in this beautiful paradise. I wish I booked at least one more night just to enjoy the view of the gardens by the pool and walk around by the rice terraces. Patrick and his team are wonderful. They went beyond any expectations to make our experience special and to care for us. I have a lot of food allergies and needed halal chicken and when I informed them beforehand they prepared delicious breakfast, dinners and even dessert to accommodate our diet. It is in a secluded, quiet village and is a perfect getaway for relaxation.

Patrick, the host is welcoming and engaging with guests. He showed me the wonderful natural food jungle surrounding the villa, and explained the production of the local palm alcohol. Patrick and his staff genuinely enjoy assisting and communicating with their guests. The French crepes and local fruits for breakfast are delicious. And dinner at the Villa is always delicious. I was without my own transport, so Patrick helped me organise day trips to the waterfalls and lake batur, and to another village where craftsmen make the instruments for gamellan performances. There's also plenty of opportunities to relax by the pool or have a wonderfully relaxing massage from the masseuse who attends the Villa on request. The local village is a pleasant 20 -30 minute walk, depending on the route. The local villagers are friendly and helpful. There are not many tourists in this area yet...enjoy it while you can! I spent 3.5 weeks at Villa Markisa and will be back again. The bed and pillows are the most comfortable I've experienced in my 5 months in Bali. I had the double room with fan, no aircon and it was perfect for temperature control and ventilation. The triple rooms have air-conditioning. I was also doing a lot of online study and the wifi was fast and reliable.
Not a problem, but just for information. You are in a rural area, so dogs barking and roosters crowing is to be expected. The sounds of nature are all around.

The villa is located in a remote area and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and the rice fields. Breakfast and dinner is offered at the villa which is good as there is no place to eat in proximity. Best feature of this place is the garden and the pool. The garden is amazing with different species of tropical trees and plants. If you want to see a different side of Bali, then Marchisa can be an option. Overall positive experience.
Poor hygiene. We stayed in the room next to the pool and there was a constant bad smell coming from the drainage. The sheet had a stain of blood. Please do not say is Bali and we should accept everything in terms of hygiene. The walls need repainting in that room. Very difficult to communicate as staff speaks little or no English. It could be a beautiful place but I think staff lacks direction. Hopefully the review will help improving quality overall.

We loved our stay here. The room was a good size with a comfortable bed. Bathroom was spacious. Our room overlooked the lovely pool with views out over the coast and countryside. The location was very peaceful and allowed for a good night sleep. The host Patrick was very friendly and informative. Would definitely stay again. You do need some form of transport to get around we hired one of their scooters.
We could use the kitchen but it is in need of a good clean.

We were pleasantly surprised! It is a remote location, with the most beautiful surrounding views. The hospitality we received from Patrick and his team was just impeccable and the optional meals provided are so incredibly delicious! Considering the remoteness of the location, I would definitely opt in for dinner at the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed longer.
- The room we selected did not have air conditioning which we were not aware of when booking. There is however a fan and as the location is quite high up in the mountains, the temperature is quite mild. -As we were situated in the room close to the front of the property, there is some natural noise in the morning.
