Had a wonderful stay—thanks to the warm hospitality and stunning rice field view. Mas Hisyam, the villa manager, was hands down the most genuine host we’ve ever met. From helping us take photos at check-in to setting up our takeaway dinner in the villa’s dining hall, he made everything feel personal and thoughtful. He even greeted us all by name—something you rarely get at hotels. He helped prep breakfast boxes for our early start one day too. Wish we got to say goodbye properly—he truly made the stay feel like home. The villa’s in a peaceful spot off the main road but still close to town. A few food gems nearby—Lemah Abang is great for local breakfast & coffee vibes, and Ayam Goreng Cemplung is just a short drive away. The rooms open right into the infinity pool, which has amazing views in the morning and late afternoon. Nice touch letting guests enjoy all the snacks and drinks in the room, plus extra water beyond the allowance.

A few small areas of the villa could use some light touch-ups—like slightly loose toilet bowls in two rooms, a stiff patio door in one, and weathered wood panels above the pool. Some walls also have minor cracks and peeling paint. The provided soap and shampoo had a strong, unusual scent, and even after switching, we ended up buying our own. Breakfast kueh was lovely—our kids especially liked the lumpia—but the mains could be improved. The nasi goreng was a bit salty, the soto ayam used unfamiliar spices, and the mie Jawa was okay. Minor things overall, but worth refining to make an already great stay even better.

Great location outside the city. Very stylish, clean, great views and pool access. Super friendly staff. We arrived very late and staff was very accommodating, fixing us a snack, just wonderful. Very good breakfast, especially the pineapple pancakes mhhhh.

It was mentioned before that the pool is heavily chlorinated. I usually don’t mind but I agree this needs some adjustment because like this it is not so enjoyable to swim in it. Also during the day the sun shines very strong on the terraces so it would be nice if there was at least one umbrella for some shade, not just a decorative one. Dinner options could be improved since it is quite far to a decent restaurant.

We had booked the room with a small pool. We enjoyed the privacy and the lay-out with the outdoor seating with view onto the rice patties. The staff was very attentive and always helpful. The small hotel is a 30 minutes cab drive outside of the city. So be prepared to wait 10 minutes for your Grab to come.

The breakfast and the menu are simple dishes as mentioned in other reviews. But the charm of the environment makes up for it.

Jogja Senang Boutique Villas exceeded all our expectations! The luxurious yet cosy accommodation with a dream swimming pool to glide from your room immediately in, the impeccable service from the whole staff Albert, Batou, Yani and the others, and serene ambiance in the midst of the rice fields made our stay truly unforgettable. The attention to detail in the villa's design, coupled with the friendly staff, created a perfect retreat near the heart of Jogja. From the moment we arrived with welcome drinks and snacks to die for to the day we departed (never tasted the banana pancakes this good), every aspect of our experience was nothing short of exceptional. Jogja Senang Boutique Villas is a hidden gem that combines comfort and elegance seamlessly. Highly recommended for an indulgent and a never to forget relaxing getaway!

The best place ever

We stayed for 3 nights at boutique villa Jogja. We enjoyed the friendly staff and the hospitality. We rather stayed the whole time in the hotel than going to the city. The full board option is worth its price. There are two cafes nearby in the same street if you’re looking for some variety. We also liked the quietness of the location and the direct access from the room to the pool. The Hotel also cooperates with a very good and affordable laundry service without any extra costs.

The walls are not sound insulated. So you can hear noisy neighbors if you’re unlucky.

What an amazing venue and lovely, altruistic staff. Food was generally outstanding and well catered. And the place was absolutely spotless. Nice and calm location close to the city. Free water, juice, some soda and snacks on a daily basis.

Given the country's predominant religion being Islam, expect the mosques to be chanting several times a day including early in the morning before sunrise. Several mosques are well within ear's range so bring earplugs if that's not your thing.

I love that it was very peaceful and quiet. The staff were very attentive to us. It was my mother's birthday and they helped me to carry out the birthday surprise wonderfully. I also love that there was a free flow of snacks, coffee, tea, and fresh juice. Also, we had an early morning flight, they packed us breakfast and bottled water. They also answer your enquiries on WhatsApp promptly.

The location was really far from Malioboro and it took us 1 hour without traffic jam. Some grab drivers do not know of the Villa.

Do not hesitate to book this gorgeous Villa. SO peaceful. The decor is beautifully done. Calm colors. Teak wood. Greenery. Furnishings , modern & warm. BEDS - Room 4 extremely comfortable, perfect pillows. Staff …… you will not find better. Hemish was amazing 🤩

Pool was way too heavily chlorinated. Told staff. They should look at salt chloride Or ozone for more skin/ hair friendly. Dried my hair out , bad 😩

Just an incredible, paradise-like place. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Snacks, juices, and coffee/tea are free, and delicious. The pool is just amazing. The views from the pool and the rooms are wonderful, and exactly as pictured on their website. It's just a 15 minute ride to the center of Jogja. Breakfast is very good. The hotel is not super-cheap, but it's so, so, so good.
