Trendy boutique hotel with stylish decor and a refreshing lemongrass scent in the lobby, run by a vibrant young team. Staff were helpful—accommodated our room change request for a Merapi view (visible only 1 of 6 days). The rooftop restaurant, bar, and pool offer 360° views, perfect for catching Merapi even if your room faces the city. Security helps guests cross the busy street, and the area is packed with great coffee spots—Fordo for convenience, Luke & Friends, or Seven Stones for a local vibe. Nearby eats include Tempo Gelato and Lawson. For breakfast, try Bubur Ayam Gerobak Ijo, Kupat Gule Bang Doel, or Nifla Hot Bread (go early—they sell out fast).

We stayed in a 2-bedroom executive apartment (Room 18A07), which felt smaller than a typical suite. The twin-bed room had no space for luggage, so we used the raised living room platform instead. The master bedroom was spacious with a walk-in wardrobe, but the toilet had no door—awkward since the bowl was visible from outside. Noise was an issue during our first two nights, with loud neighbours in the adjacent long-stay unit talking and moving items at 2–3am. Sound likely travelled through the master bedroom’s small, poorly sealed window. The kitchen lacked dishwashing essentials, and there was no hand towel in the common toilet. Complimentary snacks were only provided on the first day—a daily top-up would’ve been a nice touch, especially for the hotel’s most premium room type.

We really liked our stay at PULANG ke UTTARA. The view from the rooftop and the room was amazing, When the sky is clear you can see the Merapi. The room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast amazing. The staff from the reception, Septic from the breakfast area, as well as the staff in the bar were very nice and super helpful. There was a 24h service via WhatsApp and it worked perfectly. The hotel is 20-30 min drive away from the city center, but the area offers some restaurants which is convenient. We can definitely recommend staying there for your visit in Yogja :)

The only thing we think can be optimized - but it is not really severe - are the bathrooms which were a bit used off. Also the remote control of the TV did not work for the volume so we only could watch TV with a very low volume.

i can see gunung merapi the whole day! that was the highlight of the trip. the room is well appointed, bed and pillows extremely comfortable, sound proofing is also great but most of all the front desk staff are amazing. They went above and beyond to give assistance and always with a smile. Helped me arrange for a parcel to be delivered via Grab and followed up afterwards with status of delivery. The thoroughness of their service is beyond ordinary. Thank you for making my stay so wonderful!

The room is spacious equipped with a sofa. The breakfast is good and varies every day. The location is excellent as many restaurants are available along the street. The receptionists are welcoming and ready to help. The swimming pool is pleasant and refreshing after excursion. Some items are however on request e.g. hair dryer and towels. then they will be delivered.

There are too few tee and coffee variants during breakfast. The others, like capucinno etc. are available only in bar.

The sofa in the room was great. So were the art and the books in the room. The staff were courteous and helpful and the ability to quickly text them via Whatsapp was helpful. They responded almost instantly to my requests and questions. The room with a balcony was another plus point. Having the self service laundrette just a few minutes walk from hotel was perfect. Also the entire stretch of road left and right to the hotel was filled with eateries and convenience shops.

Beautiful design of the rooms and public areas. Nice rooftop terrace with pool! Friendly staff!

Hotel is located in a very busy street (hard and dangerous to cross the street!). Cleanliness of the bathroom could be improved! Even though the receptionists did their best to help us with our questions, there was only little knowledge about our typical tourist requests (e.g. where can we buy a simcard, support with organizing tours to Borobudur/Prambanan). It would be great to have concrete offers with partner companies they know.

We were unfortunate to experience cold water during bathing & 3x electricity blackout in our room, although it took less than 5 min to fix, but it was interrupting us joining online event (webinar)

It was a superb stay experience while in Jogja. This was my second time staying in this property. The room was super clean and comfortable. And it has 2 Air con in the room. Aromatherapy scent filled the lobby area, and it will refresh and calm all the guests. The detail of the room, the window sitting bench and the pantry was beyond expectation.

I love the hotel cleanliness anf the staff, they are very friendly. Keep up the good job The kids love to stay there, but they were asking me if there is kid's zone in the hotel but they don't.

The tv programme doesn't have much choice for the free one especially for movie

The location is very near to campus. You can find good food around the hotel so you do not need to spend all your money only in the hotel. I spend the night several times here so there is no bad issue staying here.
