I adored the artworks, the pool looked beautiful in photos and turned out to be even better in person, the garden and the food were perfect finishing touches, and the cleanliness and comfort of my room and kindness and attentiveness of hotel staff made it truly a stay to remember!

I really enjoyed everything, it was a perfect fit for me!

Raintree boutique was good value for money. There were 4 of us adults in my family and were pleasantly surprised that the presidential suite room that we booked was very spacious - it was almost like a small studio apartment - had a huge bedroom with a comfortable king bed and sofa bed, a lounge room with a huge couch and coffee table, a small dining room, a sheltered patio/balcony and a small pantry with hot water dispenser. But there was no microwave oven. There was a hot water dispenser. It felt like staying in a private villa with personal service by the pleasant staff who were helpful. Breakfast menu is not wide but the food was good. We need to preorder the night before. They were happy to pack our breakfast at 3 am when we left early to catch the sunrise at borubudur. Location is convenient as it was 15mins tea from the intercity train station and malioboro street and half hour from prambanan temple. There was also a women’s spa near by, as well as a family massage place that we could walk to.

A couple of aspects that may not suit fussy guests: Given the size of the villa and privately run nature of the villa, it is not super clean. The carpets are dated and have stains. There are dusty spots around the room. But the sheets, towels and bathroom were very clean which are most important. The villa also markets itself as an art gallery and has curated art pieces around the villa as well as the suite and these images might not appeal to everyone. Writeup on the artists and the context to the pieces are also on display on the wall (Octaviyani) and are worth reading to understand the images and artistic expressions displayed. There is a booklet in the presidential suite on some of the art pieces as well (Indra).

I usually wait to leave a review till after leave but keep extending)))). First when you walk in there is just very impressive artwork (talented Japanese artist mostly). Then the room - I booked a normal room but it was bigger actually 3-4 times bigger than a new york hotel room. just huge with huge couch. Then Pash (hope spell correct) was just super nice and helpful in every way. I didnt use the pool but it just done so well. I rarely leave reviews and only when I'm overly impressed with the value for price. Stayed in hotels and airbnb over 500 days straight days and this hits the Price Value top 5%. You can spend $500 a night and regret it or 20% of the Price and sleep just as well and enjoy. They hit the price value on spot.

Need to say something cuz too many fake reviews these days and this not one of them. I'm not a big breakfast person cuz if I stay at high end hotel with huge buffet I get fat lol cuz of course won't say no..Breakfast is good but don't expect a huge line up of buffets and enormous choices. So can't say I didnt like because I did - but some people might expect like the Beverly Hills hotel buffet and not the make it breakfast with a smile Indonesia style. So really nothing I would change!!!

This is an exceptional place to stay . The whole place has such a positive vibe and incredible energy , Minute thought has gone into every detail in this environment . Most of all the staff and owner were fantastic , in every way . I cannot thank them enough for giving me a most memorable experience in this special area . Thanks once again to everyone I met here , I hope one day to return .

Great historical atmosphere … well maintained. Very beautiful place with an open and nicely designed swimming pool. Great paintings and very much love showing to the detail. Very comfy with nice sitting areas around the pool. Amazing host and staff - so helpful any kind. Provided much support- from trip planning to getting medication for me. I felt really like home !

Most rooms without a view as house is on quite narrow plot. The road in front of the house unfortunately is very loud.

Presidential Suite - this suite is simply amazing - and not just for the affordable price but what you get for your money !! - private entrance hall, separate dining area, huge balcony, huge bedroom, huge lounge, ensuite bathroom with dressing area - exquisite art adorns every room - two 65in televisions with netflix and youtube - free wifi - large fridge freezer and water cooler - the suite is modern, comfortable and clean - all 'extras' are provided - the list goes on !! - the hotel itself is definitely the best of 'boutique' !! - conciege service, delightful pool, moorish style inner court, restaurant dining, buffet breakfasts, alcoholic drinks available, and an art gallery !! - the staff are charming, efficient, accomodating, and speak good english !! - we stayed an extra two days just to enjoy the hotel !! - note: within walking distance is an excellent authentic javanese restaurant, a mini mart, and a laundromat - Yogja centre is 10 minutes drive / Rp30k grab ride - ALSO the hotel will organise private driver to Prambanan and Borobudur

you need to understand you are in a major indonesian city !! - the balcony for the suite faces a busy road and as everywhere in indonesia there is a mosque close by !! dont expect a peaceful morning coffee and cigarette !! - but in the bedroom and lounge the noise level is negligible, and around the pool and inner court you can hear bird song !! - note: the restaurant menu is both asian and western but just the basics

Large suite with everything we needed. Good living room, awesome bed. Everything to expect. What made this a 10? The staff. Every single person was awesome and went out of his way to make our stay as memorable as possible.

Big nice shout to Mr Pras and team were absolutely amazing, you guys incredible staffs. Helpful staffs, communicative and friendly. On the day we arrived the receptions was attentive and gave us the details information. The hotel itself has a beautiful spot to relax, chill with friends or just enjoyed the view sorroundings. Green plants and stunning architecture. Good location, perfect for those who really want to have a good stay in Jogjakarta city centre, about 7 minutes drive from Malioboro. Restaurants nearby, for you who wants to experience the local dishes here. My friends, the family of them and I were happy, even just for one night staycation. Breakfast was delicious and again with nice view of pool. The kids were happy too, definitely will recomend to other friends. Thank you very much, to all staffs we would like to say matur nuwun.

Absolutely excellent! Probably our best stay in Indonesia. The staff was lovely and was super accommodating to all our requests. Very kind people. The room was fantastic as well, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plenty. We would definitely recommend this little gem.

We had issues with late breakfast on two of the three days we stayed there. We’d told them the night before that we had only half an hour to eat before we had to leave for the day tours, and they seemed to understand, but the next morning the staff working then didn’t seem to know this and struggled to provide us breakfast on time. They did apologize profusely on both days and packed us the breakfast on the last day as we were running out the door. However, this was only a small inconvenience and we would still go back!

The hotel is a boutique style hotel with only 6 or so rooms. The pool area was lovely and the hotel was spotlessly clean. The room did have tea and coffee facilities and a TV with additional channels if needed. The staff were brilliant - extremely friendly and always greeted us whenever we entered/ exited the hotel. Breakfast was lovely and there was a choice of 4 options to choose from each morning including Indonesian, Continental, American etc. Each option was served with fruit platter and tasty cakes! We hired a moped which the staff helpfully arranged at the hotel. We took moped out on an evening for meals etc so am unable to comment on how long certain places took to walk but Malioboro street was 30 minutes on foot.
