Three things -- I have stayed at the Babylon off and on for many years and the better you know the people who run it, the easier it is to spend long periods there as I do for work. This time, though I really want to say the staff was so sweet and thoughtful and it made my stay and work (in Baghdad's 49 degree centigrade heat... ) the best it could have been. The breakfast offers a terrific choice and the freshly made eggs are lovely and the more European breakfast foods as well as the offer of a proper Iraqi breakfast so that if you are having a business meeting with people from different backgrounds, everyone can have something they want. The Gym and the Gym staff are fantastic. It's clean, the machines are kept up and for me that is SUPER Important. Evan is a great trainer, Maha is always helpful at the front desk. And they have another great trainer, who was there less this time. As a person in Iraq on business, I work 12-13 hour days and the 90 minutes every day in the gym are the best in my day.

See Above -- The rooms are weird -- it's not the hotel's fault, it's the way the building was configured. They are oblong in shape and rather dark. They have done what they can with the lighting. But the rooms all could do with an upgrade. They are oblong in shape and rather dark. The carpet seems very dated and the furniture in some rooms is chipped. They are beginning to install better/new mini-bar refrigerators that keep things cold and that's a plus. WI-FI -- is POOR compared to other hotels. The Grand Millenium in Basra has a much better system. So do most hotel in Erbil. It's something that needs work.

The staff are the main attraction for me, as facilities and food become a little bit routine for someone who travels as much as I do. Hussein Musseiwi at reception (I believe he even lived in the UK) was amazing, so understanding and accommodating and made my life super easy when I was having trouble with my card, Qutaiba was also front desk and very nice, Ali (the night manager) was there every night to help me with whatever I needed and when something was bothering me would recognise it instantly and change it straight away. When you’re far from your family and in a random country, staff like this make your life so much easier. Big thank you also to Aqel the bellboy, Tammam the bellboy, Peter from housekeeping, Bahaa from laundry and the staff at the cafe. Thank you for making my life so easy!

The breakfast buffet was just sufficient enough to satisfy all needs, nothing out of the ordinary that stood out but everything was satisfactory. the room was a corner style room, it was big enough for my needs but a little dark, as the sunlight does not fully enter the room. Location, was good, just the hassle of going in and out of the hotel was a little much as security for the hotel a tight but nothing too crazy that deters you from going in.

The actual security system and the fact that it has a few entrance location means that you can simply leave an walk to the near by shop, technically you can but its just a little intimidating. the halls in each floor are a little too gloomy and dark, the vibe is very 80s-90s but nothing too crazy.

I was a little surprised that, unlike what booking com promised regarding the price, the price was much higher, let's say one third higher, the price should have been $2100, and almost one third more was blocked on the account immediately upon arrival.

I just wanted to extend my sincere thanks to all of you for your warm hospitality and excellent service during my stay at Babylon Rotana Hotel. Your professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail made my experience truly enjoyable and comfortable. I appreciate all your help throughout my visit and hope to return again soon.

Nice hotel it was clean and the staff was friendly i like the atmosphere of the hotel and their restaurants the hotel view on the river was amazing

From buffet breakfast the pastry was dry and tough. The view from rooms on river was great but the outdoor of the air conditioner at top of the restaurant was disturbing view

Great Location, lots of shops and restaurants. Clean and quiet. Special thanks to Miss Marah she was very welcoming and helpful.

The breakfast was good and varied.

The reception staff were not very cooperative when we asked any questions, especially regarding tourism in Baghdad. We felt uncomfortable with the reception staff during our stay. Some electrical outlets in the room were not working.

the prices of the minibar were shocking, one bottle of water wich is 15 cent, they sell it in the minibar with 7$. are you serious? also, the price in booking were 310$ per neight, and they charged me 340$ per neight.

Security seems to be important in Baghdad and the hotel take care for this. It is a good hotel with a very impressive entrance. The room is not the best but good enough. Very good breakfast and good restaurants inside the hotel.

Due to the USD to Iraqi Dinar issue, the Hoel charged me approx. 12% more on my credit card. And for a such expensive rate, the +12% was not well received. Hotel should find other ways and not charge Customers for this issue.
