We arrived on Christmas Eve and everything in the surroundings was closed. The owners welcomed us and shared their dinner with us. They were incredibly nice. The room was beautifully decorated and large, the heating was working well. The gardens are beautiful, with all sorts of citrus trees. You can see the Vesuvius on one side and the bay on the other. Breakfast was very good and served in a large living room. We visited in winter but it would be nice all year round.

The immediate surroundings are not particularly nice, you can't really take a walk to anywhere, but the location is very good, easy access to Naples, Pompei and the coast.

The moment you step inside, it feels like you’ve walked straight into a beautiful scene from an Italian film – warm greetings, genuine smiles, and a sense that everything here is designed just for you. We were surprised with a wonderful room upgrade, making our arrival even more magical. The rooms are pure elegance, with soft light pouring through the windows, delicate design touches in every corner, and with the most amazing view– Capri shimmering in the distance, and Mount Vesuvius standing proud against the horizon. Every moment here feels like part of a story you’ll want to relive again and again. Without a doubt, this stay will be the highlight of your journey.

It’s a renovated old villa. Rooms are spacious and equipped with old vintage furniture which is quite a lovely and suitable for a countryside villa. It’s somehow still a working project, but the owner Antonio was very accommodating and we felt as really welcomed. The breakfast was really excellent, since they are offering various choices for everyone. Dried ham, scrambled eggs, cheese, fruit, home made jams and pastry was real good choice. They served also different types of coffee.

A small refrigerator standing alone doesn’t match the old vintage furniture in the room. The double room lacks windows, only having doors with small glass windows, but it’s still bright enough. The upper double bedroom has the same orientation as the lower room but is more spacious. It also has a separate toilet and a large bathroom with a huge sofa inside. I suppose it could be used as a family room for two parents and two children.

I had high expectations for our stay at Villa Cillis and it did not disappoint. I traveled with my mother (82) and brother (49) both of whom shared the family room. The family room consists of two rooms and two baths. I stayed in the lime washed black room with the red Thai bed headboard, which is the room that sold me on the property when selecting where to stay. Villa Cillis is a place for people who appreciate the finer details, historical provenance, interior decor, antiques and fine fabrics but who also understand a work in progress. You will find all of this at Villa Cillis and more. The Villa’s day-to-day operation is run by Antonio, and his brother Michele has an art background and does all the interior design. Their parents live upstairs and their grandfather, who is 93 and a pure delight, lives down the street. This is a labor of love. You will not find perfection in everything here, as the family is still in the process of renovating the property. All the rooms on the bottom floor are absolutely gorgeous. The French doors are high quality and provide great insulation from weather or if there were to be any noise. The black room I stayed in is on the corner of the building so two sets of French doors allow for the perfect cross breeze while napping and a beautiful view of Capri upon awakening. if you prefer mountains to water, one step out the door and a glance to the right reveals Mt. Vesuvius at your fingertips. Yes, there are beautiful designer fabrics used for the upholstery, Frette bed linens to welcome you to sleep, and antiques and curiosities abound. Many of the antiques and antique architectural elements they have collected are stacked in corners waiting to find their perfect place. Every piece has a story and if you have a chance to chat with Michele he can tell you everything you want to know about each piece. Endlessly fascinating to me.

There was nothing I disliked. Some people may not like that there are still handles to be placed on the back French doors to to the lobby, or that the gorgeous hand made ceramic fireplace in the lobby has not been permanently installed yet, but for me this is part of the villa’s charm. It is taking shape before one’s eyes.

The villa is absolutely charming, both in its architecture and interiors, and has a really warm atmosphere. The staff were super helpful, going above and beyond to make our stay smooth. They even offered options for car hire on site, gave us great suggestions for dinner and activities, and helped us map out alternative routes when there was a train strike. Breakfast was lovely each morning and added to the welcoming feel.

The villa is a little isolated, so for ease it really helps to have a car if you do not plan on relying on public transportation.

We stayed for 7 nights and the experience was amazing. Beautiful yard and room, luxury decorations, fantastic breakfast. Staff are all so kind and willing to help. Went to several of the nearby restaurants recommended and all were good! Structure in between Pompeii and Ercolano ruins, with close touch to Vesuvio, Capri is just across the sea, 23 mins to Napoli airport. Perfect location and perfect stay. The surrounding is normal suburb area, so also be prepared for the narrow roads and careless drivers. But once you are used to, they can be sources of fun as well!

I loved the owner & the staff! They’re very accommodating. The location is immaculate! Antonio (the owner) is very welcoming & he even picked us up from, and took us to, the train stations. They speak all languages like English, Spanish, Italian & probably many more. They’re incredible! Oh! And there is a dog on the property that does not look like an American dog. . . Hahaha! It scared me at night, but he or she is so sweet. Anyway! Stay at Villa De Cillis Carafa if you want a good experience. 💖

There is nothing that I could say, regarding mine and my grandmas stay, that would be negative towards this place.

I can highly recommend this place. Beautiful surroundings and spacious rooms. The hotel is located at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, directly visible from the hotel. Very, very helpful staff who were extremely accommodating in arranging rental and delivery of two vehicles during peak season. What a great job! Very delicious breakfast. Our stay was absolutely perfect.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ Thank you!

The villa is situated in rural area (15min train station, 20min supermarket on foot). Challenging especially in July heat :) I can recommend to have a car.

Fantastic villa, renovated in a very stylish way and ran by people who really care about the place and the guests. I mean, they even have a garden with tomatoes and basil that you can pick and have right away. Is there smth else to say? Great hosting, very open, friendly. And you feel how much they love what they are doing. One important note is that the location is for car travelers only. Not sure if it is comfortable to use public transport to reach the place. Still, with the car, it is a great plqce for travelling around Amalfi Coast etc.

Beautiful stay here, hard to sum up in a small paragraph. Made my daughter’s first time in Italy one to remember forever, sets a very high bar and if we was to come back to Naples, we’d 100% stay here and recommend to family and friends. The rooms are incredible and breakfast on the terrace a treat. More importantly you are welcomed warmly by Antonio and Pasquale, who both during our stay couldn’t have done more for us - a pleasure to meet them and stay at this lovely Villa. Five stars!
