This is a comfortable and well appointed hotel in the centre of Kirkenes. The staff was excellent. In particular the young man who checked me in was courteous and competent. The "man from Hamburg" - he may have been the manager - was interesting to talk to. I am particularly grateful to him for his advice on getting to Kirkenes airport. Without his assistance I may have missed the flight to Helsinki (which only runs 3 times per week). The buffet breakfast was also excellent. I asked for a room that was as quiet as possible and the room I was given was exactly that. It was at the far end of the hotel on the side facing away from the town centre. It was a really excellent overnight stay in a quirky and quite unusual town.

The room was fairly expensive but then Norway is not exactly cheap.

Like the location as it is near to Dr Wessels gate and close to eating places. The family room was a decent size to accommodate 4 pax. Breakfast was a decent spread.

I had an issue with the cost charged and had to liaise with booking.com as the hotel staff was unable to assist. So it was quite upsetting.

The location is right in the heart of town, so you're close to everything. There's a supermarket just steps away, which was super convenient for quick snacks and essentials. Plus, the shuttle bus to the airport and the Showhotel shuttle picks up right in front as well, making it super easy to get around. The helpful staff made our stay even more enjoyable.

The room itself didn’t quite live up to expectations, especially considering the price. It felt pretty basic – nothing special at all. I was surprised that there were no facial tissues or even a bathroom mat provided, which seemed a bit off for the price point.

Breakfast was very good.

We arrived early however couldn’t check in unless we paid an extra fee. Didn’t make us very happy given others who paid extra did check in just after us. Given it was off season but extremely cold was still made to wait. However after 4 hours they said they upgraded us? The hotel had a taxi booking system however it was complete chaos when people were trying to get to the airport & ship terminal. Just as we decided to walk in the snow conditions a bus turned up & took us to the ship for half the cost. The hotel really needs to sort it.

Keeping in mind that there are only a few hotels in town, all things considered, this place was decent. We booked a room to sleep 4 (2 twin beds and two bunk beds that drop down from the wall). The staff was excellent and hard working especially the housekeeping staff. Really exceptional. The breakfast was very good. We loved the breads and cakes and while the selection of hot and cold items was small it really hit the spot.

The room itself needs some renovation (the bathroom in particular where the temperature of the sink was hard to control and depended on whether someone in another room was talking a shower and the state of the room's shower mixing valve (voodoo plumbing ;)). Most of the time it wasn't an issue.

The Scandic hotels chain has its standards and at Scandic Kirkenes you will find everything you would expect from this type of hotel. The breakfast was delicious, with a variety of options. The city view from the room had a lovely Norwegian landscape. The town is quite small, so all the places are nearby anyway. Might be a bit pricey considering other places but you are paying for the expected level of comfort.

It's not about hotel that much but be aware of the currency exchange rate when you book and pay at the property. The amount charged did differ from the one I had in my reservation on a date of booking which made me pay almost 10 EUR more.

The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of Kirkenes with easy access to shops and restaurants. We arrived early but the lovely receptionist was extremely kind and welcoming. Not only did she find us a room with a beautiful view but we were also allowed to check-in ahead of time. Breakfast was included and it was absolutely delicious with so many options from which to choose. All the staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great Staff, location, comfy beds, pool on site, breakfast included, sledge for kids available, free coffee/tea in lobby, plan of the town available together with the excursion leaflets.

Food was not great (dry, often tasteless, expensive), no carpet on the scratched floor (room), lots of large groups of noisy one-night-stay tourists, we were unlucky to come down to pool/sauna to a group of young men occupying sauna and popping out from time to time to drink alcohol in glass bottles/glasses on the edge of the pool and listening to own music out loud = a bit disturbing especially if you are with children; unable to relax as planned)

Nice hotel in the main square of Kirkenes. Market just on the other side of the road. Good breakfast included. We had dinner in the restaurant, good food and service. Swimming pool available for the guests.

The check in process was quite long. The room wasn't cleaned on the second day. We booked an excursion to the Snow Hotel and we had to wait more outside in the rain than 30 minutes for the bus. The sauna was broken.

There was nothing spectacular about the stay, not great but not too bad either.

When we was to checkout, the receptionist didn't give us much service and attention. Took about 10-15 minutes before she was finished talking to another customer about irrelevant stuff, instead of helping us to checkout. The shower head was defect, making it very hard taking a shower. The room was not good value for the high price ($250) we paid for one night.
