Castle Altomonte is an exceptionally well-maintained property with breathtaking views and friendly local business owners and local folk. The multi-tasking, efficient and knowledgeable Concierge Giuseppe welcomed us warmly and gave us a brief tour of the public areas of the castle. The Castle’s owner once served the nation in several governmental divisions and is charming, if you can converse with him in Italian. If you are not yet handy with Google translate, familiarize yourself with ‘voice mode’ and you’ll do just fine here.

Nothing. The stone and granite roadway to the castle is steep, so put the car in low drive just in case there’s an oncoming vehicle and you may need to slow your ascent. If you are a fan of walking, there is much to see and several good restaurants. However, the steep walk back to the Castle may not be for everyone.

Perched on a hill - have to take the car up in first gear - But Sre. Giuseppe is very accommodating and helped me the first time. Thereafter I was able to go up the hill on my own.

Very nice hotel in Altomonte with fantastic views and good rooms. Very good service and manager very professional. Restaurant is excellent and the food of high quality and high standard. If you want to stay in an old castle, this is the place.

Breakfast was basic and could have been better but otherwise, we were quite satisfied with this accommodation.

Amazing and beautiful place. Giuseppe is very kind and pleasant - he showed us the property and attended us in in breakfast and dinner. The dinner in the castel was amazing with a fair price. This is an amazing and different experience!!!

The atmosphere was fun seeing it was a castle. The host was extremely friendly, helpful and quite welcoming. The room was quite large.

It was quite warm in the room since the air conditioner was preset but we opened the balcony doors to let some air in. Luckily no critters came in during the night!

Our room was superb with all the grandeur appropriate to a castle. The room was large and gracious. The spa bath was an unexpected bonus that added to the charm of our stay. The reception & dining area of the Castella di Altomonte is exquisite. These beautifully restored rooms exude style & quality. This was matched perfectly by the food. We really enjoyed talking to our host & this added to our thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Family owned. Staff was fabulous and made us feel like part of their family! Food was wonderful! One of the highlights of our trip to Italy!!

Shower a bit small

Giuseppe did everything possible to make our family stay a great experience.. The food, dinning and service were very good. The beds were comfortable compared to some others in Italy. We enjoyed staying in a historic castle of this area. We could not ask for a better host to make our stay memorable .

There was a hot spell at this time of year and the shared two bedroom family apartment AC provided little relief from the heat. It may not be possible, but ceiling fans, could help move the evening air to cool things off We loved everything else on our stay! They were very gracious hosts!

Location was at the top of the village in the old town. Views are amazing. Although small language barrier the gentleman on reception was very helpful. Showed us around the amazing old building. Would stay here again.

Wi-Fi a little slow but you’re here for the experience of the town not to look at screens.

A lovely historic part of an 11th century castle…..but warm and comfortable. The position in the old citadel town of Altomonte and the views are stunning. The hotel staff are welcoming, and if you are driving there is safe parking.
