Excellent Italian breakfast. Beautiful grounds, building, surroundings and pool and outside dining area all excellent. Staff were lovely.

The lighting in the dining room in the evenings was WAY too bright. The dining room was not very atmospheric. No candles, etc, which spoils the dining experience We stayed for a week and, although the food was excellent, the menu didn't change during our stay, so we were bored with the food and didn't like the dining room ambience in any case. The bar area is beautiful, but there were not enough staff, seating areas to enjoy it fully. The lunch options were meagre and not much choice. The hotel needs to do more on the food front. It is in a beautiful, quiet location and needs to provide a wider choice of food and drink.

The Masseria is a very high quality establishment and ticked all of our boxes. Very peaceful and tranquil with excellent facilities. It’s a few km outside Ostuni but we found this to be a great base for day trips to the surrounding attractions. Very comfortable room, bed and bathroom were lovely. Clean and well maintained property. Lovely pool area Fantastic breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Great restaurant with a different menu every night. Loved our stay.

Would be nice to have had someone always attending the bar in the hour before dinner starts at 19:30. The sinks in the bathroom are very stylish but not very good at holding water as it seeps away through the plug!

This hotel was amazing. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. The location was stunning - near beautiful Ostuni but tucked away in the countryside. Also the farm make their own olive oil from their olive trees and marmalade from their orange and lemon trees! The pool was so relaxing and the decor of the hotel was really lovely. Everything was clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant was also amazing, with a new menu every day. The place never felt busy or crowded, it was a peaceful haven. I would 100% recommend.

There was no power for most of one day due to works in the local area - meaning no running water or electricity. A little annoying but not the hotel’s fault of course.

Stunning property with beautiful gardens and stylish decor

We couldn’t enjoy the pool on the following day because there was a wedding and they told us to leave at 11 when we checked out. I don’t see why we couldn’t stay since we weren’t bothering anyone by just sitting at the pool for a few hours. In any case, it would have been nice to know this when we booked so we could change our plans as our idea had been to relax a bit by the pool that day. Would have rather then just gone on to our next destination directly since the whole point was to relax on the way there. Also the restaurant was ok, but not great and you would expect something better when paying to stay in this kind of place.

Loved the room, so beautifully decorated and an amazing size. Cool and comfortable, the bed was 10/10. Really impressed by the toiletries all being Ortigia! Breakfast was delicious and generous. The grounds are stunning, staff friendly, food in the restaurant was lovely with a great wine list.

Pool service/snack and pool side menu could be improved. After dinner/lounge area could be better utilised. Would also have loved some kind of tour of the grounds/utilisation of them like bikes or a running route or similar.

SS is perfect. The grounds are perfectly kept with beautiful planting and well-thought landscape layout. The property retains its' ancient charm but the facilities and rooms are modern and rooms are attractively decorated. Staff are so helpful and friendly - they make this place feel more homely. The food! wow. Our dinners were to die for! Amazing flavours. 15 mins from Ostuni old town and right next door to Carovigno, well located for Cisternino, Martina Franca and Locorontondo etc. Need a car but they do provide a taxi into Ostuni.

For us, the bar area could be manned more consistently but we guesses that not many guests come here for that kind of thing. But the place is perfect.

The Masseria was beautifuly located within the Olive Yards of Puglia, near Carovigno and Ostuni. The rooms are very nicely kept in a chick retro style. The food Restaurant serves is very good and they are generous with the portions. We had a full 5 course Menu for the Silvester dinner. What was really great was, that they could adapt easily to our dietary needs. There is a special mention that the Staff was super nice and very helpful. Don’t forget to roam around the Limetree Gardens and under the Olive trees to have a unforgetable experience.

The rooms miss a floor heating and they are not well isolated from the outside temperatures. All the doors of the Hotel, Lobby area, dinner area, let a small draft of air from the outside in. Before Checkout, we also had some issues with the Water, as they were doing maintenance work on their water supply just at the time that we wanted to shower.

A beautiful property skillfully created from an ancient massaria. Decor was upmarket Italian design with a pretty seating area in the main building and a particularly lovely and spacious bedroom with a very well designed bathroom. Super bathroom products and a really good espresso machine completed the well thought out extras. The on site restaurant was well priced & very good . Although it was too cold for us to sit outside their pretty well planted patios are furnished with very comfortable looking furniture. There’s plenty of secure private parking on site. A special mention goes out for the 2 reception ladies and young man who looked after us in the restaurant - all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you!

We liked everything!

Everything about Masseria Santo Scalone exceeded our expectations. The main building (built in the 1300's) maintains its original stone vaulted ceilings, but has been updated with comfortable modern touches. The grounds, include ancient olive trees, lemon and fig trees, meandering stone pathways and an elegant infinity-edge swimming pool, which add to the beauty and tranquility of the property. The food was outstanding, too. We had most of our meals there and were never disappointed. What's more, everyone who works here is incredibly gracious and welcoming.

There is nothing we didn't like about this property.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left our experience was exactly what we needed. We were greeted by a great team who took exceptional care of us, giving us a tour, telling us the history of the properly and providing a very welcome complimentary drink. The entire property was absolutely beautiful! Our room was exceptional! The location to Ostuni was perfect! This Masseria Santo Scalone was fantastic and I would return again in an instant.

There really wasn't anything to not like. I will say that the shower in room 3 tends to kind of overflow onto the floor but it really wasn't an issue and didn't interfere with our overall happiness of the facility.
